I checked out Tig Notaro's Netflix special a month or two ago in preparation for her role. I was pretty stoked afterwards, because she's great. Her single part in the trailer is SO her! Here's hoping she gets promoted to series regular!

Wow, that didn't even look like the same show as last season. I really enjoyed last season by the end, but judging by this trailer it looks like the new season will be a lot better right from the start. Loved every moment of it, Pike, the fun factor, and the fact that they actually appear to be exploring the unknown rather than fighting a war.
When I saw the picture of Pike in the yellow uniform, it looked kind of weird, but once I saw it in the footage it looked great.

I would have thought the harsh colours of the new uniforms would have done that. The odd asymmetrical collars offend me too. I love a nice collar as much as the next man but I just want someone to do up their top button.

I really enjoyed last season by the end, but judging by this trailer it looks like the new season will be a lot better right from the start. I think the whole point was a "from the darkness into the light" journey from S1 to S2, which is why a lot of people advocated for patience with the tone and direction that was taken in S1.
