Captain Marvel (2019)

Making SLJ look twenty years younger isn't likely to break the bank. They're probably just going to smooth out wrinkles, minor stuff really.

There could very well be a teaser at Comic Con. My opinion only, don't read anything into that.
There are no Marvel panels at all at Comic Con this year

Exactly. Most of the work of making Nick Fury look younger will be accomplished with seeing him with a full head of hair with a wig.... and two eyes!

Yup, both Gregg and Jackson have aged very gracefully so I imagine de-aging won't take nearly as much work as it did for Russell and Douglas.

Actually, turns out they do D23s every other year, and we had one last year, so the next one isn't until August of next year.

Yeah, D23 isn't this year. Marvel's likely skipping SDCC because they just finished filming Captain Marvel and don't have any special effects finished but also don't want to release anything for Avengers 4.

The Captain Marvel Prelude tie-in comic will follow the comings and goings of Nick Fury and Maria Hill from in between Age of Ultron and the end of Infinity War.

The tie-in comics are supposedly canon, and aside from one rather glaring contradiction, they do still fit in to the timeline rather comfortably.
