DC launching digital service with Titans and Young Justice

I have absolutely no idea why you'd immediately jump to that conclusion; DC could easily and justifiably offer this service for as little as $5.99 and still make a profit.

Its a big company. They're going to get their money, and they're going to get as much as they can. They're certainly not going to charge CBS All Access prices. Best cast scenario, its Netflix like prices. I can't see them offering all that for less then $10, especially since they're making a bunch of original shows, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it a lot more then $10.

And they still have a ton of their DC library already involved in exclusive contracts with other streaming services, like the Arrowverse over at Netflix. At the very least, they're going to wait until they have more of their library locked down once those contracts expire before they hike prices.

I own DVDs of a huge percentage of what is on that list. It would be nice if this lead to Hi-Def versions of those older tv series. Though I am not holding my breath. You look at how the older Star Trek shows look on CBS All Access, like old VHS tapes!

I have to decide if i want to contribute to yet another independent service sucking my money or not... god, all I really want is Young Justice but of course like CBS All-Access these jerks can't put it on Netflix.

Needs more original shows for it to be worthwhile for me. I own most of them already on DVD.

BTW, for anyone wondering about DC Universe and the Arrowverse, there are two shows from that continuity - the '90s Flash series starring John Wesley Shipp and Constantine starring Matt Ryan - that will be available "from launch", and hopefully the rest of that continuity will eventually join them.

^ Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends joining Constantine and The Flash '90 on DC Universe wouldn't mean that they'd be removed from broadcast; it would just mean that they'd be removed from Netflix.

Hell no, keep it on broadcast where it belongs instead of going behind another damn paywall.
Yeah. There are shows on pay channels or pay streaming services that I have bought on disc even though I don't subscribe, such as Westworld and Jessica Jones.

Although I have enjoyed the previous Teen Titans and Young Justice cartoon series, and would watch the new shows if they were on channels/services I get, they aren't interesting enough to justify either subscribing to a new service or buying the discs. Good luck to the shows, but I'm passing.

^ What's most annoying is when they don't release shows on disc in order to maintain their streaming stranglehold. I'd check out Star Trek: Discovery on Blu-ray, but there's no release or even announcement yet, presumably so they can continue to try to force me to sign up for CBS All Access. Which isn't happening.

^ Why is $6 a month such a big deal? You're interested in the show, just sign up for the service for however long it takes you to watch, and then cancel it. It's as simple as that.

Money's not the issue; I'd pay more for a Blu-ray set. But I'm old-school, I don't like streaming, and so Discovery will remain an unransomed hostage.

Right. Even if you watch only one episode a week, that's maybe $12-18 dollars for a whole season of content, maybe 10-15 episodes -- versus maybe $8-15 for a 2-hour movie in a theater. So it's a better bargain than going out to a movie.

Plus the DC service also includes digital comics as well as a wide selection of TV shows, so that adds more value.
