Which does not fit in with his line to Doctor Strange about him better not be trying to trick him. Surely he'd just know.
Maybe he suspects that Strange might be able to trick him somehow--in fact, that was probably why Strange's plan was to allow Thanos to accomplish his goal--there was no way to try and stop him without Thanos being able to know what they were up to.

The 14+ million they lost presumably also had the snap too. Or ones where he was killed, and Sanctuary 2 levelled Earth etc

Since the time-stone isn't destroyed, events aren't set in stone yet. Though it would be quite the reset button to sort of annul all of Infinity War. Loki has to return, though. *g*

Considering that this whole scenario played out in the first half of what is obviously a two-part story and that all of the original Avengers are still alive, it seems pretty obvious that events aren't set in stone.

Wow, I would love to see an extended cut. But then I'm always a sucker for extended cuts, whether or not they improve the film. In some cases extended or director's cuts really do improve the film (Kingdom of Heaven, Blade Runner) while others don't (I can't think of any on the top of my head but I'm sure there are some). In some cases, particularly The Lord of the Rings trilogy, extended cuts are wonderful, if somewhat superlative, gifts to the fans and I don't see anything wrong with that as long as the director and studio are up for it.

Jim Starlin is on infamously bad terms with Marvel and hates what Marvel has done with the movies, so it wouldn't shock me for this to be a quote taken completely out of context because he's cranky about something or another.

Granted all of that, but didn't he say he enjoyed Infinity War? I seem to recall reading that before the movie came out.

Starlin has zero issues with what the movies have done. His issues with Marvel Studios was them using his creation, Thanos, without any acknowledgment or recompense. That issue went away quickly with Marvel Studios quickly addressing the issue. Starlin's grudge is against the comics arm of Marvel specifically.

You might be thinking of Jim Steranko, who hates everything Marvel Studios has done with SHIELD.

Finally got to see this movie, really really enjoyed it start to finish.
The humor was wonderfully timed, the action was great, seeing all our heroes work together was so fun to watch.
I found it interesting how love played such an important role in so many scenes.
- Loki's love for Thor is why he gave up the stone.
- Gamora's love for Nebula lead to her revealing the soul stone,
- Thanos's love for Gamora being key to him getting the soul stone.
- Scarlet Witches ( has she ever been called Scarlet witch on screen ? ) love of Vision at first preventing then allowing her to destroy Vision.
- Star Lords love of Gamora

I wonder if love will somehow play a role in Thanos's defeat ; maybe Gamora will be in his head ( Im imaging the VOY episode Warlord where Kes kept fighting from within )

I gotta say I LOVE what they did with Bruce Banner , I've always found Hulk /BB a harder character to define as the two sides are quite different and not really informing the actions of the other. By using the Hulkbuster Armor they were able to let him be Bruce Banner and Hulk all at once , that was fantastic.

Really enjoyed the return to Wakanda, I did my best to avoid spoilers or any news at all about this movie so it could all be new to me , seeing so many supporting cast from Black Panther was such a treat; When Wanda finally joins the battler Okoyes' comment put another big smile on my face. It's remarkable how good the writing suits the characters, every beat comes across true.
With so many established characters and only so much screen time to go around, its so important that each line be true to the characters.

favorite comedy moment was Spiderman meeting Dr Strange and thinking Dr Strange is a made-up name, :D
Wait ,.. theres a spiderman and an antman gets honorable mention

another wonderful journey into imagination, can't wait for the next part.

Avengers: Infinity War
The third Avengers film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where Thanos goes about gathering the Infinity Stones in pursuit of his genocidal plan. Power. The Power Stone, is obtained in backstory. (Did the Guardians tell Thor where it was bestowed, or did they try to get into contact with the Nova Corps, and he found out that way?) Space. The Tesseract. Loki did save it before Surtur destroyed Asgard, but that doesn't save him from Thanos. A rather effective scene. Thanos saying “No resurrections this time” is rather impactful...
Reality. The Aether, which Asgard had sent to the Collector. But the reality appears to be that wasn't effective enough. It's certainly a painful reality for Peter Quill, when Gamora is captured by Thanos as a result! The scenes in (what's left of) the Collector's base on Knowhere were also very effective (especially at showing Quill's anguish). Soul. Of course, Peter would be more anguished when he finds out what had happened next. The Soul Stone requiring a sacrifice to gain is very effectively portrayed...
Time. The Eye of Aggamotto, which Dr. Strange is sworn to protect. But time was running out from the time when Banner landed in the Sanctum. Everything the Avengers were doing after this was simply delaying the inevitable. (Especially after a misunderstanding causes a fight between the Avengers and the Guardians on Titan...) Mind. Vision. It all comes down to an endgame in Wakanda as they try to protect Vision. The battle in Wakanda was portrayed rather well, but it all comes to naught, as Thanos achieves his goal. 9.25/10.
