Theres a great deal of Star Trek acroynms. Thought it would be fun to try to get them all in one place?

    TOS - The Original Series
    TAS - The Animated Series
    TNG - The Next Generation
    DS9 - Deep Space Nine
    VOY - Voyager
    ENT - Enterprise
    SF - Star Fleet
    SFM - Star Fleet Medical
    SFA - Star Fleet Academy
    TMP - The Motion Picture
TWK - The Wrath of Khan
    ST3, ST4, ST5, ST6 (Star Trek movies 3-6)
    STG - Star Trek Generations
STFC - Star Trek First Contact
    STI - Star Trek Insurrections
    STN - Star Trek Nemesis
IDIC - Infinite Diversity Infinite Combinations
    ST09 - Star Trek 2009
    ITD - Into The Darkness
    STB - Star Trek Beyond

Didn’t know what you guys abbreviate Star Trek Discovery so there’s a poll for that haha

Did I get any of main ones wrong? What weird abbreviations do you use?

DSC is nice and uniform with the other series' 3-letter abbreviations.

I know a lot "fans" prefer STD though...

Haha! Yeah I’ve seen a bunch of variations on the boards, I’ve been alternating based on what the person above me uses since there doesn’t seem to be a consensus.

I saw a couple I didn’t know this week. A few people were using TPTB and IIRC?

I usually go with DSC for Discovery, but then I don't use ST when I'm shortening any of them really:)

STD was funny for about a month. It's been months and months and months. It's DSC - which is even on the shuttles.

I also use DSC, because that matches the TV code they've used for the Discovery Channel for several decades. I know Memory Alpha wants to use DIS, but I see that and think "Disney" (for the same reason).

I've always seen these as GEN, FC, INS, and NEM. Not sure about the last two, but there's no "The" in Star Trek Into Darkness.

I originally preferred DIS, per MA's reasoning, but all the vitriol directed from other ""fans"" towards users of STD, as if it was the worst thing evah, and because they tended to be critical of the show (or worse), left a very sour taste in my throat.

We're all supposed to be mature here, but some people can't keep their minds out of the gutter and accept STD as a valid acronym. This is why I intend to use STD exclusively. Although, unlike certain other fans, I will not belittle or disregard others' opinions, just because they use the "wrong" acronym.

    And DISCO is somehow better??

Personally I use "VGR" for Voyager; mainly because it was in a tweet where someone said it was official and I kinda like the sound of it. Plus it fits neatly with "DSC".

I’m leaning toward DSC for sure.

My movie abbreviations are wayyy off
I really spend most of my time watching the series. I need to make more time for them!

I believe it was John Van Citters who is the head of some Star Trek related department at CBS IIRC.

STD is silly anyway. They never called Enterprise STE or Voyager STV.

I wish they would have gone that route.
"What's your favorite episode of STT?"
"Oh, it's "The Devil in the Dark."
"No, I don't mean STT, I mean STT."
"I never watched that show. I mean, it was a kids show after all!"
    "No, ST*T*!"
"Ohhh, okay, yeah, that would be "Measure of a Man"."

I would think the anti-Discovery people would prefer to call it Sexually Transmitted Disease.

I dunno, DSC makes the most sense to me? DISCO is kinda funny, and allows us to say "They're bringing it back!"
