1/24 Scale N-Type Shuttlecraft

Yeah ... I remember building that kit back in the day. Used up half a tube of modeling putty filling in gaps between the upper and lower hull halves. It was pretty spiffy until my cat knocked it off my bedside table.

Holy crap, this is amazing work. At first I was like - great 3D modeling, what renderer are you using - and then I realized that it was a real model and my jaw dropped even more.
AdmiralBuck is like this. So far, all his builds I've seen here are so precise and clean, you'd swear he works in CG ... until you see the shot of an open element with wires snaking around inside -- I've commented on this before. Even his unpainted parts look like clay-renderings you'll find in many modeling packages.

I can't wait for him to start his next project.

It just dawned on me. The hexagonal panels in the aft compartments bare a resemblance to those that were used on the retaining panels of the TMA-1 excavation dig. I happened to come across some images of Stanly Kubrick on the set. I think those panels had five or six of the elongated hexagonal shapes on each panel. Excellent recycling of the design esthetic. Good luck on your shuttle project. I look forward to seeing the completed version.
Best of luck in your future endeavours.

Thanks. This project has been completed two months ago and I have posted finished images here on this site. Let me know if you have not been able to see the last four pages of this thread.

I’m hoping you realize you have to select the next page (2,3,4,5) to see more posts in the thread beyond the first page.

I just can't even.

Wow.

What an amazing design and watching the build process through this thread was a real treat.
