Lando Calrissian's Sexuality

It also led to an unfortunate mishap. That's why we're two-thirds into the new trilogy and Lando is nowhere to be seen. It's best not to go into detail. :ack:

Kor

a preexisting character with an established life
At what point in the original trilogy was anything established about Lando's life? We saw a couple of very brief periods in his life and no indication of his romantic inclinations other than a little light flirting with Leia, which doesn't rule out wider interests. In fact, the little we saw of Lando in Empire suggests that flirting is his normal conversational style.

We didn't "know" Lando at all, in fact he was almost a total non entity beyond being charming and morally questionable.

The idea any statement whatsoever about his sexuality somehow conflicts with "an established life" is utter nonsense, a projection by the viewer onto the blank slate that was actually on the screen.

"Yup".

Lando is a smoooooooth mofo, that's all you really need to know. Humanoid genitalia? Mystery orifices? Tentacles? Cloven paw-digits & Arcturian danglers?? Ohhhhh, yeah. Colt 45.

As a child of the 70s, let me just say that I'm looking very forward to checking out Glover's take. I've heard only cool things.

Yeah, Lando is barely a character in the original trilogy. He's Han's cool friend and most of the draw comes from Billy Dee Williams' performance than any actual development.

^^this

And 1,000,000^42 times at that!!
