Voyager fans.. are you disappointed about Discovery?

Well Patrick Stewart is apparently coming back as Picard.
to be perfectly honest, I don't know if I believe this will actually happen. Maybe I'm just a pessimist but who knows how long until this actually happens and if Patrick Stewart will be willing and/or able. Just because someone says a show may happen, doesn't mean it will. I guess I'm just expecting this to fizzle out for some reason. Not that I wouldn't love to see this happen. I'm just not getting my hopes up.

I highly doubt Mulgrew would return except for maybe a brief cameo as she has her own series she currently loves playing Red on Orange is the New Black. She has a passion for this character and i doubt she would give it up.

Well about OITNB, I know that Mulgrew loves playing Red but the end is approaching as seeing as the making of 7th - and according to the producer, the last.- will begin in 3 or 4 months. What means that, next June or July 2019, OITNB will be over.

Now about a potential & official post-Voyager series in making (not the fans movies like Russ, Picardo seem to love to shoot!), if producers want to propose to Mulgrew to reprise her role of Kathryn Janeway as a regular or even recurring character, with some major changings though like seasons of 13 episodes instead of 24 to 26 episodes like in 90's & a role less physical, it would be stupid for her to refuse. First because this character brought her fame, money and a loyal fanbase and Mulgrew perfectly knows that and there is no reason to change. Plus,Captain Janeway is still one of 3 best loved Starfleet Captain, after Picard & Kirk -> It would be interesting to see her character operates in doing something different but still, in a certain way, in Janeway's style. And second, beyond 60 years, the television roles are scarce : between Janeway and Red, Mulgrew had to wait 13 years to win a big role. I don't think she can still afford to wait again 10 or 13 years to get an other strong character.

But well, it's just speculation for right now.

Mulgrew has been quite lucky with her career. How many long running hit shows has she been on? Most actors are lucky to get one. I have a feeling, if approached, she would not turn down playing Janeway again.

Unfortunately for me, my favorites don't seem to be interested in working in FRONT of the camera any more.

I guess that you talk about Roxan (Dawson) & Robert (Mc Neil), who managed successfully to change from acting to directing and for the later, producing. It
is taking less risk but hey, it's their choice. :)

Yep. They're both doing very well as directors and working constantly. Robbie McNiell has even directed The Orville.

My problem with Discovery is that it feels like each episode is only 20 minutes of actual content...which means 50% of each episode is mere padding or repetition.

I'm hoping this improves with season 2. I wasn't a big fan of the Klingon arc and am glad it's over. I remember reading that season 2 will have more space exploration, that is more of what i hope to see. I don't care if it's a rehash of tng or voyager, i love it

Looks like a bit of a new direction in season two. TRAILER
Honestly, I don't know.

This is supposed to be a series which takes place in the TOS era but it doesn't look like TOS era at all.

It looks like a cross between Stargate Universe and........what?

I still get a "doom and gloom" feeling about it but if they get rid of the Turtles, I might give it a try.

I liked season one enough that I'm planning to watch season two. Like others have said , most series had rough first seasons, but developed into great shows.
My biggest hope is that they move to more of an ensemble show rather then the Michael Burham show. I find the actress to be extremely one note , to the point of being a bad caricature of a real person. It's 100% intense and severe 100% of the time. I think my biggest issue is that by the end of her run on The Walking Dead her character had adopted the exact same outlook, so its hard to watch her on discovery and not see the walking dead character.

That being said, the supporting cast are some of my favorites ever! I want more Tilly , more Statements, more Saru, more Admiral what's her name . I want to know more about the android lady (?) on the bridge. I want more complex Klingon culture that was talked about in the lead up to season one. More Mudd would be outstanding too ( Rainn Wilson does great work )

Im excited about season two for sure, I feel like season one works as a wonderful setup for the universe and opens so many possibilities. Ideally the Micheal Burham character can either develop more or the writers could stop asking 'how is micheal the star of this episode ' whenever they come up with a script idea.,

Sir Patrick Stewart is confirmed returning in a Picard-focused series set in 2399, from the writers and producers of Discovery. Perhaps we'll get one or two Voyager characters visit him?

That's a pretty big coup getting Sir Patrick Stewart to revisit Picard.

Regards Discovery, I wonder if Tuvok could be useful. These Vulcans live long and even sometimes prosper.
