Applying real world logic and common sense to this show is a losing battle. The whole show falls apart pretty fast.

The whole way they handle the Kara Danvers identity is probably the cringiest example of suspension of disbelief, damaging any chance of taking this show seriously.

So far, only Richard Donner got that aspect of Superman right in live action with his Verisimilitude approach.

They just said that she won that one particular fight fair and square, not because Superman was impaired or anything. Doesn't mean it couldn't have gone the other way--or might not the next time they square off.

As I recall, they were pretty evenly matched. Kara managed to get in the decisive blow, but that doesn't mean she's significantly more powerful. Just that she won that fight.

No, if you watch the scenes afterward between Clark and Kara the producers DID go out of their way in his dialogue to make it very clear she's physically stronger. I'm not saying that's good or bad - and given it's her show, I get they want to set her up as the premier hero for her universe; but IMO given the history of Superman, it was IMO over the top to do it the way they did.

I already debunked that pages ago. The word "stronger" was never spoken. He only said "I was at full strength and you beat me." That does NOT mean Kara won by being stronger; it just meant she didn't win because he was weakened. As I've pointed out a million times by now, it's possible to defeat a stronger opponent by wielding superior skill, and we know going as far back as episode 2 that Alex specifically trained Supergirl to fight in ways that did not depend on strength alone.

So, season 3 ends with lower finale ratings / numbers of viewers than season two. A downward trend (some would call it slight) means something needs to be addressed for S4...one wonders what would that be. Further, after the largely uninteresting Worldkiller / Reign arc, the series seems to be operating with a lack of inspiration. That, and with the departure of Jeremy Jordan and Chris Wood, it seems Supergirl is "just there" after 3 seasons with nothing exciting on the horizon, unless it goes in the direction of the Superman: Red Son comic storyline I suspected they might adapt for SG, along with Lena finally becoming the villain her behavior hinted she would become since her first appearance. But that's no guarantee of an uptick for viewer interest.​

The whole "Clark's bigger so he's stronger" thing is nonsense anyway. Their powers boost their strength well beyond what muscle mass is capable of to the point it's ridiculous to imagine that muscle is actually involved AT ALL.

Even if it were - powerless Clark might be able to bench 150kg as a physically buff individual. Kara might only bench 60kg. The difference is going to be so negligible under a powered situation it may as well not exist.

Well, when a superhero fight did not end in a draw--specifically Cap defeating Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man fans "flipped the f*ck out" as the expression goes. They screamed "plot armor" / "I hate Captain f'in America" and similar responses, so even a fight not ending in a draw was criticized by some.

It's secondary to my real point. I'm not saying "Superman is definitely stronger," although it's logical that he would be, all else being equal. I'm saying it doesn't matter which one's stronger, that it's completely the wrong question to ask, because physical strength is far from the only factor involved in winning a fight, and because we know for a fact that Alex trained Kara in fighting techniques that did not rely on strength alone.
 
Could a version of Supergirl beat a version of Superman? Of course, in the right conditions. Could the Arrowverse Supergirl beat her cousin? Only if he's been exposed to gold Kryptonite before hand, and even then its not a guarantee. It depends on how moody she's feeling at the time, and if Mon-El has a hang nail that needs her attention.

Zod is taller and broader than Kara.

Kal thought he was fighting Zod.

Every time Superman thought he was delivering a devastating dick punch, he wasn't, and every time he tried to punch Zod's shit eating grin off his smug ####ing face... That fist would have missed Kara's smaller frame entirely, or got caught up in her hair.

Yeah, you're right. Gold Kryptonite isn't enough of a handicap. Ok, Supergirl could definitely beat a powerless Clark Kent if he was also blinded and had an arm ripped off (while still bleeding from the missing arm), but even then only if Mon-El, Lena Luthor and Cat Grant were right next to her cheering her on and keeping her becoming too moody to fight.

This only applies to Season 1 and Season 3 Supergirl, though. Season 2 Supergirl could probably beat her cousin fairly, but she'd need at least some strategy since he has at least a decade more experience and is probably a bit stronger.
 
Benoist wears heavy muscle padding as Supergirl. You could hear it quite loudly as she moved in her early Entertainment Tonight interviews.

That probably means that within the universe of this show, Supergirl is 'jacked' physically.

So perhaps her muscles are strengthened by the yellow sun like Supermans' to the point where she's built like a brickhouse.
 
Kryptonians can't exercise under a yellow sun because they cannot exert themselves. Juggling cars is as much exercise to one of them as I get from eating a jumbo butter chicken pizza.

Clark should look like an extra from the movie WALL-E.

However...

There have been comics where Superman has gotten quite big from overdoses of sunlight, so fuck logic.
