Disney Scraps Plans For Further Star Wars Storys

I thought it was awesome Rey did absolutely everything she did. If only she had baked a cake too.

He inserted himself into the written work you watched at the pictures?

In what way does she resemble him at all?

I thought it was awesome how Rey used the Force to activate Luke's lightsaber and sliced Snoke almost in half while Kylo Ren was helplessly immobilized.

And how she animated the corpse of Snoke for years pretending he was alive when in fact she was pulling all the strings...

Why display the starring character of the current trilogy so prominently?

Haven't the faintest idea why they would do that...

Maybe they shouldn't do that, people might get the wrong idea that she's important to the story

I Mean how the hell am I supposed accept she knows all the ways of the force INSTANTLY and also gets the Falcon too, only having just learned to fly it a day earlier? Yea.. great. The disrespect of the original cast is complete.
It IS disrespect to to the original cast but it is also the flow of the current story and agenda that supports it. Just go with the flow ;)

I hate the way TNG was so disrespectful to the TOS cast, just imagine someone saving the galaxy other than Kirk....oh look a load of posts have disappeared again

I don't think TNG was disrespectful to TOS??

Don't you?

That's nice.

So how long would you keep Luke alive fighting endless and increasingly dreary and predictable light sabre duels to save the galaxy because he's clearly the only person who could possibly do so and it's disrespectful to suggest he might get old, retire or die?

Yeah. I think Picard and later Janeway had a reverence to Kirk etc.

Getting old should never be a reason to disrespect.

Picard and co or the people making the show? How did they kill Kirk off?

Which disrespect would that be? Who showed this fictional character disrespect?

I seriously, don't understand any of that. Could you please try again.

Well I was and am confused... but I do suspect that we are actually Star War fans and that has to be common ground :)

Janeway explicitly called him a bad officer, who’d never survive in her time.

Picard nagged him out of retirement to fix Picards problem, got him killed, then dumped the corpse under about two inches of gravel. All but guaranteeing that Kirk will be dug up and eaten by animals, never get the Starfleet funeral and respects that we knew by that point to be the norm, and will never be returned to his surviving friends and family.

But yeah. They absolutely beheld Kirk with reverent awe.

That's just weird...

I understand. It’s really weird that someone on a Star Trek board, may have actually watched Star Trek.

If you don’t like it, maybe you could send the writers a death threat. I hear that’s what all the ‘real’ superfans do/did.

My point is that introducing a new generation of characters isn't disrespectful, it's simply what happens over time within any given setting. It's a big galaxy and Luke is not all there is to the place, nor can he (or would likely want to) be at the centre of things for ever. That isn't disrespect, it's just moving away from the small universe syndrome which has plagued SW since it's inception.

He died an epic death where in reality most of us, even the heroic ones, die in obscurity. He was given a send off way above and beyond any other character in the franchise, Anakin included.

Not one of your complaints has had any reasonable basis that stands up to challenge or analysis, so you resort to simple obstinance, then delete your posts.

JANEWAY: It was a very different time, Mister Kim. Captain Sulu, Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy. They all belonged to a different breed of Starfleet officer. Imagine the era they lived in. The Alpha Quadrant still largely unexplored. Humanity on verge of war with Klingons. Romulans hiding behind every nebula. Even the technology we take for granted was still in its early stages. No plasma weapons, no multiphasic shields. Their ships were half as fast.
KIM: No replicators, no holodecks. You know, ever since I took Starfleet history at the academy, I always wondered what it would be like to live in those days.

I don't think for one minute that Janeway disrespected Kirk.

die in obscurity.

Or have a bridge literally fall on them!

You know, in spite of you editing that down...it still doesn’t contradict what I said.

Also, since people get hung up on how much creators supposably need to be super-dooper respectful to the past.
