I still don't get releasing in May, when they had established a successful pattern releasing in December.
My first thought was that perhaps they were interested in seeing if the market could handle a Star Wars movie in a different time of the year, perhaps setting for multiple releases annually. But who knows?
If we judge people's meaning by the memes they post then... a lot of us wouldn't be here! Mind you I don't post them myself but some people that is all they do.
Doesn't mean they lost momentum or that somehow it damaged the Star Wars brand. Any more than people stopped being fans because of the PT.Star Wars (in my opinion) lost its momentum with the prequels. Force Awakens brought it back. Last Jedi pissed on Luke. Thanks for that
Also "pissed on Luke" is hyperbole, at best. It's been 6 months and I still don't get the anger towards it. It's as if the characters in Star Wars are not allowed to be people.

Seriously, characters change. Yes. It would have been kinda kewl to have Luke be a badass perfect Jedi who only got stronger as the years went on and was positively perfect in every way. But interesting? No! It would be cool for about five minutes and then completely boring after that.
10 years from now wouldn't be much of a victory. Thankfully we won't have to wait that long. It will happen quite soon, the momentum is building and soon mainstream outlets will be having these discussions.
It's a combination of box office, fan and general audience response and critical response. Marvel Studios wins at all of these... Transformers does not. That's why the Transformers franchise sunk like the DCEU after a string of bad and divisive films, and the box office lead to diminishing returns, akin to Solo.
The funny thing is I'm not even a Star Wars fan. I think Star Wars is totally silly and juvenile for the most part, but I can respect it's role in filmmaking history.
I just find the whole behind the scenes studio drama fascinating and worthy of discussion. I love when all these things go haywire. It was just as amusing seeing the DCEU implode.
I can't wait to see how the Kathleen drama unfolds and how Disney will rectify all of this. Some big changes are coming for sure.
Because you're transgender, are you referring to a female character? or transgender character? If the later is so, I wasn't sure if one existed in SW yet.
I'm all for representation of all types if handled well (Black Panther)........... especially in a fictional universe populated by weird aliens.

Like I said, I get bragging rights when Kathleen 'leaves' this yr. It really didn't take much effort or time, and it was discussion more centered around the behind the scenes drama, than the actual narrative of the films.

Both. I'm a big fan of Rey, she's my favorite character in the franchise. There is a non-binary character in Star Wars, they're in one of the newer books. It's a start but I would like to see some representation in the movies.
Black Panther was a good movie, it had nothing to do with representation. Representation doesn't affect the quality of a movie in any way. Some movies are great, others are terrible. Only the simple minded seem to think that representation ruins movies.

An image of Mickey Mouse graphically slitting Kennedy’s throat would also have the same meaning, and still be noteable in its ability to identify the poster as being a particularly pathetic and bacteria-ridden troglodyte.

If you want to advocate for someone getting fired with a meme, use a meme for someone getting fired, and don't use one depicting someone being killed, even if it's fictionally killed by a sci-fi device. Otherwise it's going to look like you're trying to hide behind a joke.
When I think of Spider-Man dying, which I do a lot, I think of people being fired. Not the poor kid knowing that he was going to die due to his powers allowing him to sense it coming.

Yeah, they're going to fire her. I mean, she hasn't done anything wrong or poorly managed the franchise. She released three successful, well reviewed films that are generally liked by the general public. One movie bombed, but was well reviewed and generally liked by viewers. But the parent company is still making money off the franchise and will make even more once the theme parks open, so I can't imagine that Bob Iger has any issue at all with her. I'm not a supergenius with a 200 IQ, but I have a decent awareness of how Disney operates and how they cut their losses based on an interest in the company. Maybe I'm not looking at the right info, which is mostly screamed on YouTube videos by an angry 20 year virgin who lives in his mother's basement who mistakenly think they're funny or clever.

You know about something I wonder about. What if Kennedy was in charge of making new Star Wars films but Lucas never sold the property to Disney and thus her only real boss would have been Lucas himself. Do you think she would have the ability to make something that rivals the Classic movies when you don't have to the pressure of Disney over you or would we have gotten what we have mostly gotten. Solid Summer Movie action movies that most likely won't have the lasting appeal of the Classic films and have more in common with the Kelvin Universe in Trek than the stuff that people really identify as the core of what Trek is all about. Will these films still hold up when the special effects are dated. Are the new characters really interesting enough to become Iconic like the first group? Unlike the first movie's were only Harrison Ford was the only person to walk away with a big career I actually think the actors are going to have more staying power than the characters they play in the films. Isn't Kennedy's only real flaw is that she has failed to make Iconic masterpieces which is something that that doesn't happen all that often and very rarely in franchise that has already had it's Iconic masterpieces.

There’s a new animated Spider-Man movie coming out. It looks nice, and hopeful, and upbeat. Everyone is alive and saving the day.
It also has Spider-Gwen in it. Which already makes the trailer the best Spider movie ever made.
I need happy things with Spider-Man.
