TLJ Actor Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico) Deletes Instagram After Abuse

Rose certainly seems smarter than either Poe or Finn, both of whom which were complete imbeciles. As I've said elsewhere, The Last Jedi feels like two different movies to me. I really love the stuff with Luke and Rey and even Kylo Ren (who I referred to as Darth Emo in The Force Awakens) was much better presented.

But the rest of the movie just felt prequel level bad. Rose and Leia were the only characters I liked in that sequence. Poe Dameron is an imbecile and Finn is a non-cgi Jar Jar Binks.

I really tend to agree. The chase felt tacked on because they really didn't have anything better for Leia and Finn to do between the beginning and end of the film.

A missed opportunity that we didn't get more of Fisher and Hamill together in her last appearance in the franchise.

Poe's mutiny attempt was just padding time. There were smarter people than him that already had plans thought out about what to do before fuel ran out.

I can’t really blame the movie since they had no way of knowing.

It’s a shame, but I don’t know if I could’ve watched something that actually addressed her death. I got emotional every time she was onscreen.

That seems harsh. Nothing is Jar-Jar bad.

I at least liked Finn and wanted to see him succeed.

Maybe not to the same levels of slapstick as Jar-Jar, but Finn still bumbled around incompetently making one stupid decision after another, and somehow, usually through sheer bumbling luck, he always comes out on top.

I wasn't a big fan of TLJ (I just thought it was okay, but it did have some beautiful set-pieces and great moments), but that's irrelevant to this discussion, because no one deserves to be harassed online simply for making a film or being a character in it you didn't like. Not Kelly Marie Tran, not John Boyega, not Rian Johnson, not Kathleen Kennedy, and not George Lucas back in the day. Vote with your dollars by not attending the theater or not buying the Blu-ray and associated products if it bothers you that much (it certainly doesn't bother me enough to do that), not with harassment of people involved in the film.

2) Pom Klementieff is gorgeous, drop-dead very beautiful. I'm skeptical this issue really came down to race. We've had many Asian actresses and actors who have been loved by their respective fanbases in genre tentpoles and TV shows before.
AND finally we get to the heart of the issue which you've been sarcastically covering over for most of the thread by pretending you're on "Team Tico", though you blew it when you compared her to Tilly in DSC, someone whose appearance you've mocked relentlessly in the Discovery Forum. If she had looked more like Pom Klementieff you would have liked her more, because you're shallow and sexist, in addition to your many other issues.

Also, you gave it away when you said "some" people have called Rose the Jar-Jar Binks of the sequel films in your OP, which I think is probably something you've said numerous times too, as you just HAD to bring it up in the first post of an OP about the actress being harassed online, because you're so full of class.

I'm sure your singular obsession (two threads and numerous posts) with Kathleen Kennedy being fired and harassed has nothing to do with her being a woman and casting women and minorities in lead roles (the dreaded "SJW agenda") or anything like that.

But congrats on taking pleasure in mocking the seemingly nicest person in the world getting run off social media because it turned out to be exactly as bad as she had initially feared. Well done. You've made the internet a better place today, hero.

He was inexperienced and growing. I'll take that over Jar-Jar any day. I actually understood Finn, his character and his arc.

The most amusing thing about your hyperbolic post is.... I didn't even mention Tran/Tico in the excerpt you quoted.

All I did was comment on Pom Klementieff being attractive, which is perfectly fine, and accurate.

You're jumping to conclusions again and hearing what you want to hear, but that's fine. I have a good sense of humor.

Also, I personally don't even use Instagram. So I had nothing to do with Tico-gate.

Well, let's sift through this load of horseshit one bit at a time.

You quoted EnsignRicky's post which was talking about how Pom Klementieff was not being subjected to the same kind of harassment that Kelly Marie Tran was, and then posited the reason for that was in part because Pom Klementief was beautiful, thereby implying the opposite for Kelly Marie Tran. This is in keeping with you calling KMT the Jar Jar of the film in your OP, and following that up with calling her the Cadet Tilly of Star Wars, who is a character you have repeatedly called "fat and ugly" in the Discovery Forum. So me, possessing of the rudimentary ability to put two and two together from your countless sexist posts around the board, broke this duh-Vinci Code.
Fortunately Pom Klementieff isn't being subjected to similarly heartless, racist and misogynistic behavior, even though they both share essentially the same fan base.
It could have something to do with her character not totally sucking; But that's just speculation and is in no way an excuse for such misdirected cruelty.

Good thing I never said you did then. I was talking exclusively about your sarcastic posts in "support" of her in this thread mixed with the oh so subtle mockery.

Yeah right, she wears glasses that big 99% of the time.

I'm calling bullshit.

1. They’re not that big.

2. They totally do. Especially if they don’t work in an ‘office’ environment, that demands more downbeat looks.

3. Hers are actually more subtle than one of my friends. The frame is the same shape, but she opted by bright purple and red. Said also went through high school with the traditional huge black goggle glasses. Because she just likes ‘em big and plasticy.

(Unless you mean the top ones. Which shed totally wear all the time, if not for that pesky ‘physics’ thing.)

4. Why on earth would you care, or make any sort of assumptions about that sort of thing?

Given what I know of Lucas, I have a hard time believing that he sees star wars as anything other than a silly children's tale. Admittedly I don't know much though.

"My reason for making Star Wars was to give young people an honest, wholesome fantasy. You want everybody to live happily ever after. The whole emotion I am trying to get at the end of the film is for you to feel uplifted, emotionally and spiritually, to feel absolutely good about life." - George Lucas

"I'd be worried if everybody was like "That was a good movie". It's much more exciting when a group of people are really excited about it, and there are others literally saying "That was the worst movie I've ever seen". Having those two extremes is the mark of a movie that I want to make." -Rian Johnson

"Fuck you Rian Johnson" -Stormy Daniels

There is not a famous person in the world that hasn't had online abuse. Putting stock in what strangers say about you online and deleting your account over it is not how to handle it.

I can't help but feel that one of those is wrong.

Also, I felt really positive at the end of ROTS. The nauseous feeling and general feeling of depression must have been a byproduct of the popcorn...

Sticking around to put up with the abuse is not the way to handle it either. How long do you stick around in an abusive situation?

I doubt she does, but she shouldn’t have to put up with it and these animals shouldn’t have sent it in the first place. I don’t blame her for leaving. Women already have to put up with far more shit online than men do, being famous and hated by sociopaths who call themselves fans is compounding on that.

No Rose, no fake code breaker traitor, the original plan would have worked, and Luke Skywalker would have lived.

Rose murdered Luke Skywalker.

Which is the writer's fault, not the actors.

Well, that's very easy for you to say being a man, not being famous and easily tracked down, and not being on the receiving end of said abuse.
