Best set of Dvd's?

i have been looking to possibly get the series on new Dvd's. My older set I bought and they were used. There are still episodes I have never seen completly due to the dvd's not playing correctly.
When I look on line there seem to be a lot if complaints of this from each and every vendor and configuration.

Is there a good, complete series set out there to buy that functions completly?

One thing with the 2017 set is that they are straight repressings of the 2003 DVD’s. So they are full of the 2nd-nd-Chapter-not-after-the-opening errors. The DVD’s play fine, but if you skip a chapter through the opening credits you may end up minutes after the title, rather than right before the show “comes back from break”.

I bought the 2017 re-releases (for everything, not just DS9). They work fine for the most part.

I was looking at that set. Still thinking about it.
My scratched set seems to play a little bit better on the DVD player I've been using because my other one broke.

As far as I’ve seen in the last 10 years most DVD companies (aside from Mill Creek and other low budget companies that don’t do any) have discontinued the practice of not placing a chapter point after the opening titles. All TV-DVD releases now have a chapter right after the opening credits. It’s only reissues like TNG, DS9 & Voyager that have not been reencoded that don’t.

That’s the 2003 release. Paramount just added a cardboard bottom piece to sell it as a complete series. They could’ve just shrink-wrapped all 7 seasons and added a sticker rather than the cardboard.

Every time I have bought DS9 on DVD, at least one of the discs in the season set has playback problems. For now, I'm relying on Netflix to watch the show, and hoping that it will stay there for a while.

This looks like the set I have.
The DVD's stay in place on the clear plastic book like thing.
But each 'book' cover was never attached since I owned them. Then each book also fits inside a sleeve.
I bought it used though. But there are some episodes I have never seen all of because of scratches.

If you don't feel like getting a brand new boxset you could also order replacement disks instead. I have done that a few times with DVD's. Sometimes with Trek but I know I had to do it with Smallville as well.

I once tried to order a single replacement blu-ray disc for TOS to replace one with a scratch, but CBS said they couldn't do that.

For me I just went to Amazon. I also think they have people sell them at Ebay and maybe Craigslist. Always been afraid of Craigslist because I here that is where all the serial killers like to be.

Look up Malware Bytes. You can install and run it, and it will quarantine anything on your PC that isn't supposed to be there.

So many if mine skip and have what I refer to as "dramatic pauses" I think it would be too annoying to figure out which discs have issues.
I had another DVD player that I was using and it gave up the ghost, and I think the other DVD player in using plays stuff better.
