Must be a sign of the times (and a good thing) that the networks will shitcan a high rating show for such conduct (yes I know house of cards, transparent but I think this is the first major network show to be hit this way).
I can't help but feel sorry for all the people she's just put out of work.

It really pisses me off because Roseanne the actress sucks, but I really loved the new children they added. I hope they find work soon.
Or ABC announces for midseason they picked up a spinoff where Roseanne dies.
Yeah, and to rub it in they should let her die of something stupid that could have been easily prevented if she hadn't lost healthcare because of Trump.

She was a drug addict, just have her OD, it's insanely relatable in the USA where literally millions of people will die from legal pills given by their doctors so a CEO makes 15 billion dollars in a year.
There are no more filmed episodes. The show ends the night before her knee surgery. Though, if they're going to kill her off and still continue the show (which is very unlikely), I agree that it should probably be an overdose rather than a death by surgery.
You know if they did kill her off it would even sort of make sense since Dan had died during the first version of the show. It would almost feel like coming full circle. Another thing is the show has drawn comparisons to Archie Bunker but lets not forget that Archie died on that show and they later on turned the focus on Edith. So a show without her actually makes sense.

I still think it's actually very likely we will get some spinoff by February of 2019.
And yes killing off Roseanne would be perfect because Dan died in the first finale. Darlene is now a writer, have season 10 partly be a dream where Roseanne actually died the night of the 1016 election after Mrs. Clinton lost and Roseanne was so upset and ODed. Just go all out crazy.
But it's also why a recast works, Becky was recast and it actually worked out fine.
However Jayson Archie lived, and Edith died.

That's right. Why have I this memory of her having her own show? Did I just get hit by the Mandella Effect?

Nope, she died in the second season premiere of the spinoff. I think. The shows blend together. It would be neat if she ran the bar herself after Archie died.
I think the best solution is to turn Roseanne into a show focusing on Darlene and Becky, who have to move in together. Even better, open the new season with Darlene at her computer typing up a Facebook post about how the first season of the new show was a novel she was writing, and her mom had actually croaked years ago.
Story A: 5 years after Roseanne dies, Dan and Jackie hook up.
Story B: Dan and Jackie have been banging since before Dan and Roseanne were married, and that is why Jackie PRETENDS that she cannot land a man, because she has been Dan's mistress all along.
Seriously, I suspect that the rest of the cast will be taken care of, and shuffled into other shows on ABC, but not necessarily sitcoms.
Although, half of them, the noobs without street cred, could be shoved into Last Man Standing, unless ABC is now wary of hiring hardline conservatives, and Last Man Standing is out to pasture too?
