I don’t think Disney will be allowed to do that. I’m surprised the government is allowing the Fox buyout.
Disney might also purchase the US government, rendering all antitrust legislation moot.

Might?
My money is on Amazon buying the U.S. government first.
Russia already beat them to it.

I just want Marvel to stop trying to make the Inhumans happen, and a Fox buyout might be the only way to do it.Someone in great power really wants to see Avengers vs X-Men: Dawn of Merchandising
It's kind of a shame what Marvel has done to the Inhumans in the last couple of years. I read some of the very early Inhumans appearances in the 60s (thanks to trades) and found those to be very intereseting, but they are so very different from the more recent series, where the Inhumans are basically the mutants. I don't even want to talk about the tv show...I just want Marvel to stop trying to make the Inhumans happen, and a Fox buyout might be the only way to do it.

I'm not just talking about the tv show. The way they get pushed in the comics is also obnoxious. That's already stopped, hasn't it? The Inhumans were Ike Perlmutter's pet project. When he was involved with the movie division, there were plans to do it as a movie. Once the TV and movie divisions were split and Perlmutter ended up with the TV side, Inhumans became a TV project. And it decisively flopped. So I don't think there's any chance of it being resurrected now, certainly not for the big screen.

From what I've heard and read Marvel was basically trying to make the Inhumans the X-Men, which felt like a disservice to both groups. The reason for that seemed to be that Fox had the movie rights and Marvel didn't want to advertise products made by "the enmy" (Although I'm not sure how much of this is conspiracy theory and how much is reality. I can definitely see how there would be some truth in it). Discney buying Fox Studios would certainly fit with the sudden influx of X-Men ongoings (and even minis!) and the whole Death of the Inhumans thing. The comics just follow the lead of what's popular onscreen. Since the Inhumans bombed, I'd expect the comics to stop emphasizing them.
EDIT: And from Jinn's post, it looks like that's already started.
Can't come soon enough!
Any news, rumors or anything about future Star Trek novels? At this point I think 2018 novels is probably moot. If a deal were signed today, what would be the earliest we'd see a new novel? I figure no earlier than early 2019. Is that overly optimistic even?
I'm starting to wonder if Pocketbooks will even be in the mix at this point. Are there any other publishers trying to make a run at Star Trek novels. The only one I can think of is Titan but only because of their overseas releases and not because of anything I've heard.
If another publisher got the contract would that affect the current authors? As far as I know the authors don't have any exclusive contracts with Pocketbooks that would prevent them from writing Star Trek books for a new publisher, but then I'm no expert.
As I've said before, there's no reason to suspect Pocket will lose the license to anyone else.
