I really loved the “Take On Me” scene, really well done and moving. I think that’s what makes Deadpool work. Despite the wackiness and violence, there’s a real sweetness to the character. Something I never really got from the comics.

I liked it.

The humor worked for the most part. The biggest flaw was that the plot made Russell out to be massively important, but didn't develop him enough. Also this was basically DOFP again in terms of story of time traveler trying to change the past.

Was Morena Baccarin too busy with Gotham or something, she basically made a cameo in this movie. Will Wade saving Vanessa be made canon in the next one, or was it another gag like all the other Deadpool in the past stuff?

Like The Wolverine, the best part of the movie were the midcredit scenes.

I thought this movie was fitting for the 10 year anniversary of the Deadpool universe. Bring on Phase 2!

You know Deadpool 2 may have introduced a way to explain the first appearance in Wolverine.

I said that I was waiting for the bottom half of Deadpool to grow a new top half and be another Deadpool. What if that happened... But the memories don't transfer so you get a newborn baby with a brain sudddenly expand to adult. He gets found and some organization decides to use it so they train him and to get away with being intelectually challenged and not able to pass as Deadpool they saw the mouth shut.

There's a time device that could put it in the past, and possibly is less facially scarred because of growing a new top half.

I think trying to make any sense of the timelines and continuity in the Fox/X-Men movies is pointless at this point.

I took it that the mid-credits sequence with Vanessa "happened" and that the other stuff were more "jokes" considering one was a dramatic point that drove the entire movie and the other things were just gags on past movies.

I had a few issues regarding the pre-title and title sequences. Overall, I thought it was a lot, lot better than the first film. It actually had a plot, even if it wasn't that original.

The writers confirmed that it's canon. So she would appear if there was a sequel, hopefully Peter will return too. Assuming the Disney merger happens and the Deadpool films continue with the same continuity, although they should and just have Deadpool comment on it.

Not as good as the first one, but very entertaining.

Are Negasonic and her girlfriend the first openly gay Marvel movie heroes?

LOVED the bit in the X-mansion where DP does his spiel about Fox not paying for more characters and then you see who's in the door behind him:rommie:

Was Vanisher...
Brad Pitt?

YUP

Matt Damon also makes an appearance... and it's no quick cameo and it completely went over my head.

A problem with the 'saving Vanessa' midcredit scene is that if things went down that way, logically it would mean that the rest of the movie never happened, given that her death was the motivation.

So the 'saving Peter' scene makes no sense, because that situation wouldn't have been set up in the first place!

Yeah, don’t worry about it. The whole rest of the movie is what Deadpool would’ve done anyway, even if he motivation was different.

Enjoyable for what it was, an irreverent and absurd superhero film about a merc with a mouth. I'm not a big fan of some of the raunchier humor but there was plenty of great jokes nonetheless. For me, the best parts of the Deadpool films are how they subvert tropes in not just superhero films, but most films in general.

Like others, I thought the mid-credits were the funniest part of the whole film. For the briefest of moments, I thought Hugh Jackman returned before realizing it was stock footage. Ryan Reynolds sure loves mocking his participation in Green Lantern.

I don't care one way or another about a sequel or the X-Force, but can we get a solo film for Domino please? Zadie Beetz nearly stole the show from Ryan Reynolds and didn't mostly because of lack of overall screentime.

I was seated next to an African American couple, and the guy kept getting a revolted reaction from every gay reference, e.g., Negasonic and her girlfriend, DP touching Colossus, DP hugging Cable, etc. He would exclaim, "Eww" or "Uh uh!" I found it ironic and rather amusing how a closedminded moviegoer like this gentleman should still enjoy a movie, based on The XMen, that's an allegory of racism and homophobia.

Don't be so hard on the guy. You can have a tolerance for something, but not want to see it. It doesn't have to have anything to do with being gay--it could be any topic. There could be something that grosses you out - but you realize that just because you are grossed out, doesn't mean someone else should be banned from doing it. Simply reacting to gay references does not make you homophobic.

I enjoyed the movie a lot however i found myself not caring about the kid. In the big fight in the end i was like eh just shoot the kid

Saw it today.

Very good. I was laughing uncontrollably during the baby legs scene!

They even managed a sweet ending that had me near tears.

Domino is great. Dopinder is out of control. And the Vanisher? He’s awesome!

Thoroughly enjoyed. A-
The baby legs!

The next morning my boyfriend came out of the shower and threw a shirt on and was porky piging it and i just lost it! :guffaw:

Perhaps not homophobic per se, just closedminded and prejudiced.

I don't know if I was just in a strange mood yesterday when I saw it but I thought it was just ok. Plenty of laugh out loud moments but felt it was too meta for its own good. I ended up losing all interest in the plot. 2.5/5.
