I actually owe you guys a video of the completed Engineering set. I meant to take one and get it uploaded before I moved on to the quarters but got sidetracked. I'll also get a video for the quarters set once I finish it.Donny, will you be at a stage where we can get some videos again? I know, greedy.

And for those interested, I plan on just getting Kirk's quarters done for now, and coming back around at a later date to doing the renditions of the other characters, as I'm anxious to get to places like the Sickbay and Hangar Deck . At the very least I'd like to get all the quarters of the bridge crew modeled and propped out before, or at the very least Kirk and Spock
Here's a list of all the areas I've completed so far:
Bridge
Transporter
Briefing Room
Engineering
Shuttle Exterior/Interior
Corridor Assets
Jefferies Tube
And here's a list of all the screen-seen areas that have not been completed that are on my to-do list:
Quarters
Mess Hall / Rec Room
Chapel (Balance of Terror / The Tholian Web)
Gymnasium (Charlie X)
Theater (The Conscience of the King)
Herbarium (And The Children Shall Lead, Is There In Truth No Beauty, Elaan of Troyius deleted scene)
Sickbay Ward
Sickbay Exam Room
Sickbay Dr.'s Office
Sickbay Medical Lab
Dilithium Control Room (The Alternative Factor)
Auxiliary Control Room (Season 2/3)
Phaser Control Room (Balance of Terror)
Hangar Deck
JAG Courtroom (The Menagerie)
Formal Dining Room (Space Seed, Is There In Truth No Beauty)
Horizontal Jefferie's Tube w/ Access Room (That Which Survives)
Impulse Engineering (Season 1 Engineering Set)
VIP Guest Quarters (Conscience of the King)
Brig (Season 2/3, this will be part of a larger security complex)
Environmental Engineering (Wink of an Eye)
Are there any screen-seen areas I'm missing?
And here's a list of the not-seen areas I'd like to get around to:
Library Lounge
Science Lab
Cargo Bay
Security
Armory
Computer Core
Torpedo Bay
Shuttlecraft Maintenance Bay
Turbolift Maintenance Bay
Emergency Transporter
Ion Pod
Barber Shop
Officer's Lounge (something fancier that any of the mess halls we see on-screen)
More medical areas like Dentistry, Convalescence Ward, etc
Maybe some industrial-type areas as well, like fabrication areas, power generators, etc
And yes, the Bowling Alley
Obviously, I've still got a lot of work to do, but I've created or will create so many assets that can be reused that some of these areas will be short work.

Not the way I bowl.I've always wondered if you could fit a one- or two-lane swimming pool alongside the bowling alley?
dJE
And yes, the Bowling Alley
As for that bowling alley- is it possible that, and the swimming pool, are created as needed via the holographic rec deck seen in TAS?
That's not a bad idea! I created a version of the officer's lounge in that location in a very old TOS project of mine (I don't even think I could find images of that, its from 2001 or 2002 and used an ancient game engine) but it had the 4 windows we see in TMP (this project was not of the Enterprise, but of another TOS Consititution-Class ship, I forget which) However, there are plenty of windows around the saucer section that would be nice to use as well for either the officer's lounge or some other location. It would be interesting to put the officers’ lounge exactly where it ends up in TMP, but have the “red rectangle” atop the B/C deck open to reveal a “skylight” instead of the aftwards windows we see later.

I'll be very honest here: I don't really like the idea of having a holographic rec deck on the ship, despite it being somewhat canon with it's appearance in TAS (isn't TAS considered non-canon?). While on that subject, I'm not sure how much, if at all, I'm going to use anything that appeared in TAS as inspiration for this particular project, as I will admit I'm not the biggest TAS fan.![]()
You shut your filthy mouth!isn't TAS considered non-canon?
Owwwww!...The Secret of Vulcan Fury, as when I was a kid (I was 12 or 13 when it was in development)
I am now of two completely different minds about the BC deck. I have to admit, I've always been in the "observatory / space telescope / lots of labs" school of that second bubble of hull.
BUT... Why the hell would they gut a fairly sciencey part of the ship and put in a bar? So MAYBE it always was loungey type places. Hmmmmm.
On the Strategic Designs TOS deck plans, where the Officer's Lounge would later end up on the refit, there was an "Executive Docking Port" where the windows would be, surrounded by a "Senior Officer's & VIP Reception Lounge".Putting the lounge in the B/C deck brings to mind the Strategic Designs TOS blueprints which, in my opinion, incorporated far too much of the refit design. There was an officer's lounge in B/C, a massive rec-deck starboard-aft on the saucer, and even Engineering was placed at the base of of the neck rather than closer to the nacelle pylons. I prefer the idea that anything that was new to us was also new to the characters in TMP, so the concept that Kirk was hanging out in a lounge or addressing the crew on a rec-deck that was almost identical to the one he'd left two years earlier seems weird to me.
Similarly, I don't see the issue with replacing science facility with a lounge. The entire ship was rearranged and upgraded. If those instruments could be relocated to, say, the sensor dome above the bridge, why not fill in the freed-up space with some more recreational area? Makes more sense than deck after deck of empty rooms on the -D, and we know Trek ships were becoming less spartan all the time.
