...in Space? This was done as a suggestion by Lord Other, so I'll be posting stuff as I do it here The Robot Direct Link: https://s18.postimg.cc/42x4z1kyh/The_Robot_00.jpg
Intriguing... Is this supposed to be of alien manufacture as in the current NetFlix series, but incorporating elements of Kinoshita's design?
I LOVE IT. It reminds me a little of the movie version but I particularly like the "electronic eye" so very much like a Cylon. Excellent!
I know it's supposed to be evocative of the original robot, but that head just screams "Alpha 5" from the Power Rangers to me!
Thanks!, I don't have netflix, but I heard the robot was alien tech. This is not alien, but human made. I wanted an air of sinister to it, because if it were used as a plot device to go rogue, then it would look very evil. Thanks! I did call upon aspects of the classic and the movie versions of the robot in this design, but added a very "atolmian" flare to it... lol Thanks!
LOL...Well that's probably because Alpha was designed to homage the TOS Lost in Space Robot. lol C'mon he's not that mean-looking
Sinister? HA! no.. The Black Hole's "Maximilian" that dude was sinister... not that I want to influence Atolm or so but..
I didn't say this was the only sinister robot. I just have an unsettled feel about it. I'll not claim it being rational, nor is it a knock against the piece.
Its okay mates Fireproof78 is not knocking the work...he's just saying how the design makes him feel. I for one am glad he feels uneasy, as that was my intention with the design.
All good, not trying to nag or be unpleasant, just thought that Maxi was maybe deserving an Atom treatment.
I do like the elements from the different "Robots" as you have assembled them together into a coherent whole. It works very nicely. A question though- I noticed on The first piece you posted the arms of the Robot are very reminiscent of the design for the Yellow Sign. Happenstance.. fate.. intentional reference? Lol.
