Many of mine already mentioned, and many of mine would form a trilogy.
Star Man.
Serenity, obviously.
Ghost Busters 3
A third Dr Who movie
Bill & Ted 3
Forbidden Planet 2
Short circuit 3
The Amazing Spider-Man 3
Time Bandits 2
Hangar 18 pt 2
I'm curious. What is Hangar 18? I have never heard of this movie.

Too soon.Serenity.
I can't believe I forgot Dredd. I haven't seen anythin lately, but there was talk of a Mega City One TV series a while back, and I believe there interest both from Karl Urban and from the people behind the show in bringing him back as Dredd. I don't think it is/would have been set in the same universe as Dredd, but at least it could be/have been more Urban as Dredd.Dredd
Damn, I hadn't heard about this. Fury Road is one of my all time favorite movies, and I was really looking forward to seeing what we got next.Mad Max: Fury Road - It recently came out that a sequel is unlikely due to lawsuits being filed between Warner Bros. and George Miller, so that's a shame since I really liked Fury Road
This is another one that should have been on my list, I loved it and I'm still disappointed it didn't do better.John Carter
Master and Commander the Far Side of the World
It came out at a similar time as PotC, right?Being that the movie was essentially a combination of two of the books, I'm surprised there hasn't been a sequel either. Being a series with 20 novels to it, it's a wealth of material to explore. Russell Crowe was great in it.
I've always considered Theater of Blood with Vincent Price and Diana Riggs to be an 'unofficial' sequel to the Phibes movies.Solomon Kane: The first movie wasn't bad, but it's basically an extended origin story so you don't actually get the Solomon Kane from the original stories until the very end. The movie ends where the stories begin, which is a bit frustrating. (Kind of like watching a Batman movie in which Bruce Wayne doesn't become Batman until the closing scene.)
Doctor Phibes Rises Again. Apparently there was a third film, The Brides of Doctor Phibes, planned back in the seventies, but it never happened.
The Shadow: Loved the whole look and feel of that movie. Shame we never got more SHADOW movies.
Jason and the Argonauts (1963): The classic Harryhausen film ends with a set-up for a sequel, with Jason heading back home to reclaim his kingdom from his evil uncle. The movie literally ends with Zeus predicting that many more adventures await Jason . . . but it was not to be.
It came out at a similar time as PotC, right?
People expected something different and didn‘t like it as much?
Not enough overexaggerated swashbuckling and rum jokes?
So, I'm not the only one?Superman returns
Hancock: Don't listen to the hype. Black Panther wasn't the first awesome Superhero movie starring a black led Superhero. This is a underrated classic that also looked at important theme and that was interracial marriage. It had bunch of funny R-rated humor but also lovable characters and with some important meesages about love and wanting to make a positive influence in the Jason Bateman character.
