So much for the 3 year guarantee.
Since my last post, I have more questions:
1. How big is the universe in the Marvel Comics? The reason I ask is that it is implied that all Infinity Stones, after the Big Bang, were dispersed in the early universe, yet they somehow manage to end up in the same galaxy. Shouldn't they be more dispersed than that?
I was trying to figure out what the amount of time the movie took place over. I thought it was several days, but it could have been one. Do you have a particular reason to think it was one day?2. The events take place in one day. In one day, Thanos collects five stones. Yet, he has been searching for them for decades and, at the minimum, he has been conquering planets for twenty years at the minimum. If the stones were that easy to find, as they were located in one galaxy, why did he not find them sooner?
Oh, I hadn't thought of that. She even came out of the Soulworld in the comics, albeit with the aid of Adam Warlock. I wonder if Captain Marvel might play a part in bringing Gamora out of there (I would've said Dr. Strange, but he's among the dead).I'm now wondering if Gamora will play the play the role in the movie associated with Adam Warlock in the comics, returning from the Soul Stone to deliver the killing blow to Thanos.
I also found it odd that the original Avengers, along with Rhodey were spared. Namely, most of the pre-"Avengers" characters. It reminded me of how Joss Whedon made sure that the original Scoobies all survived the series finale of "Buffy".
The Power Stone was the one that Star-Lord found at the beginning of GotG and drove most of that movie's plot. They might have been. We never really saw where they were from originally, with the possible exception of the Soul Stone. The Space Stone was owned by the Asgardians and buried on Earth. The Reality Stone was either with the Dark Elves or Asgardians (not sure which) and sent to an alternate dimension before given to the Collector. The Power Stone was also collected by the Collector and we don't know where he got it from. The Mind Stone was apparently possessed by Thanos and given to Loki to help him get the Space Stone. We don't know where he got it from. The Time Stone was obtained, possibly the Ancient One, who knows where. It could have been in another dimension for all we know. Certainly not limited to the Milky Way.
Supposedly GotG is implied to take place in Andromeda, and each of the Nine Realms are shown to be in different galaxies.I will point out the comics have all the major species in their own separate galaxies, but the movie universe does seem to keep things to the same galaxy for the most part.
I think he's implicitly talking about sapient life only. Also, he's not called "The Mad Titan Thanos" for his temperament.I do wonder a bit how carefully he crafted his intentions. "Half of all life" could easily wipe out civilization as we know it, considering we make up less than 1% of all the living creatures on earth. Hell, we don't even make up 1% of the life in our own bodies if you're counting each individual organism as a single life.
