Actually, I'm pretty sure those deaths were reversed by Nebula when she briefly held the Gauntlet.

I've been wondering about Adam Warlock for ages, but at this point, I have a feeling Captain Marvel will be filling in for his role. Not just because of the post-credits scene, but also because he was hinted at in the credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2. I've been told by readers of those comics that he plays an important role with those characters, so chances are his appearance will be focused on Vol. 3.

^ Nebula did reset everything before she became crazy. All that being said, I think it would be a mistake to think there will be direct parallels to Gauntlet where Carol fills in for Adam Warlock. People assumed Loki would replace Mephisto, for example.

In Thor, Loki says that destroying the Bifrost means Thor never seeing Jane again, but in IW Heimdall is able to send Hulk to Earth after the Bifrost is destroyed again. What gives? How does he do this?

If you hear him mumbling, it sounds like he's calling on the last of his powers to do it. IIRC, he's specifically mentioning black magic. In Avengers, Loki mentions Odin using black magic to bring Thor to Earth.

Thor said Thanos killed half his people, not all of them. Presumably some survived somewhere, quite probably including Valkyrie and Korg.

Until anyone can prove otherwise, I'm going under the assumption that Valkyrie, Korg and Miek went out on a beer run before Thanos showed up and missed the whole thing.

That's a fair point, especially considering the assumption of Loki paralleling Mephisto, but I meant only in a broad sense of leading and organizing the attack on Thanos.

He's in uncharted territory when it comes to the Hulk/Banner relationship now.

The dichotomy and dynamic of Banner & Hulk has always been in flux. We saw in TIH he has flashbacks, then in Avengers he described being Hulk as being exposed, like an open nerve, so clearly there was always some conscious connection, even if it's short on details and more about the sensation than actions.

By AoU Hulk's unique personality appears to begin to emerge as Hulk reacts poorly to being referred to as Banner and is clearly aware that Nat just pushed him down that shaft. It's not until TR that the two seem to separate and Hulk becomes a fully actualised personality. Bruce uses the analogy that before he was able to steer the Hulk with "one hand on the wheel", but the two years on Sakaar were like being "locked in the trunk" instead. Now we can see the two of them actively struggling with each other.

So basically their relationship is whatever a given story needs it to be...just like in the comics.

Well, damn. I stand corrected and clearly I wasn't paying close enough attention to the credits. At least the article notes that Ross Marquand is known for his impressions because I thought that was Weaving before we knew it was Red Skull.

So...am I the only one that for a split second mistook Red Skull for Doctor Doom?

My personal head canon now includes a non-exist post credits scene where they show up at where the ship was and Korg is like "Where did everybody go? Are you sure this is where we parked? Does this mean more drinks for us?"

Hard to say but IIRC it was either part of Quill’s interplay with Thor or else Drax and his ‘ability to stay so still he becomes invisible.’ Personally I think I laughed hardest when Quill described Thor as “big guy...not that good-looking.”

I look on Rotten Tomatoes and see this movie at 84% and it baffles me. To me it's like they're trying to actively drive the score down.

So I try and look at it objectively.

This is a sequel to a decade's worth of movies. Imagine you didn't know anything about any of the MCU before you went in. How would you feel about it?

I can't even imagine. I think it might be incomprehensible. It might be the saddest, most confusing movie ever. A bunch of funny, likeable people fought a monster, lost, and died. The end. Damn.

The film has grossed an estimated $105,967,000 for Friday, second to only The Force Awakens by $13 million and beating out The Last Jedi by a mere $1 million. Box Office Mojo estimates a $240+ opening weekend, which would put it very close to The Force Awakens' record ($247.9 million).

Interesting how the trailers had several misleading moments that were either different or completely absent from the film: 1) Mantis' wave to Thor was on her own when Thor, Groot, and Rocket left the ship and not standing with the Guardians as a whole; 2) Spider-Man swinging through the wreckage on Titan omitted his spider legs and carrying Mantis; and 3) Most notably, the group shot of many of hour heroes running into battle which included the Hulk did not happen, simply because the Hulk never emerged after Bruce returned to Earth. There may have been a few other moments but those were the ones that stood out the most to me.

I watched the trailers again and I noticed two other shots that were absent: 1) Rhodey (in the War Machine suit but with the face cover up), Nat, and Bruce looking up into the sky; and 2) A pensive Bruce standing next to the fallen Hulkbuster suit. I'm guessing the latter scene might occur in the sequel because it looks like it's after the battle in Wakanda. However, I'm more interested in the first scene because I can't figure where that shot would've happened. Plus, I really wanted a longer scene between Nat and Bruce.

The critics saying that are the ones who are thinking about its worth as a standalone movie. Plenty of critics still subscribe to the "All movies should stand on their own with no prior watching needed".

Kinda wishing that was the true end of the MCU.

As speculated in this thread already, Ant-Man and the Wasp probably takes place before Infinity War, and then both of them will be a big part of the attack on Thanos in the sequel (along with Hawkeye).

Rhodey mentioned that Scott and Clint were under house arrest as per a plea deal. The trailer for AM&TW shows him getting the leg bracelet thing. It's probably shortly before, the post credits scene will probably tie in to IW.

Agreed.

Hard to see the point of even reviewing this movie. If you’re already an MCU fan, it’s obviously a must-see. If you’re not, I honestly can’t recommend it, largely for the reasons @slappy gives.
