Bill Cosby

OMG, i went to youtube to watch an old Fat Albert episode and I stumbled on this one that is so prophetic. If you don't want to watch the whole thing, skip to the end where Cosby talks about screwing up and going to prison.

He was obviously very calculated and comfortable in his serial abuse. That over sixty women were selected including at least one only 17 years old. He further abused his family and friends who have lent their support and trust in him. Certainly NOT to those who would've have known.

I don't understand why he or anyone would want to have that power over another. To take away their will and degrade them so completely. It's so messed up because he would've had consensual fan worship probably readily available to him. But no that's not enough.

As for his punishment. His age should not exempt him and yet it drives me insane that I see this old man. Yet I can equate an old man (now) that hurt me and frankly him being old doesn't touch my heart at all. Simply he needs to do his time but be incarcerated with the appropriate humane care one would give to anyone who may have medical needs.

What a two-faced hypocrite.

Oh I don't doubt at all he has done such terrible things, I just don't take any pleasure in someone's suffering no matter what he's done, I'm more concerned I guess with making sure it doesn't happen to anyone else.

It seems alot of people's memories are being tarnished these days. You got Cosby and Cloe from "Smallville" Numerous things with Kevin Spacey and Mel Gibson. Even "Happy Days" because of Scott Baio and anyone who use to like watching Penn State football. It's a dark and sad time to have memories.

That's the thing about investing in these Hollywood hypocrites who lecture us on this and that, often claiming a moral high ground that simply is made up on heir part, you later find out they are either the very perpetrators of the things they criticized others for or enabled such behaviors.

Like you said, it sucks to find out later about these people, especially if you really liked something. You gave some good examples, but I'll toss another one into the fire: Andy Dick.
Now I can't watch re-runs of "Newsradio" without seeing him as the pervert that multiple articles (getting fired from a movie because of inappropriate sexual behavior toward cast members, urinating in public, being kicked out for touching a woman's ass in a comedy club, two counts of sexual abuse, pulling down a teenage girls' top, etc -- there's more!) have reported about him.

A prime example comes to mind (and this isn't an attempt to bring up Trump for the hell of it, just rather it's the person it happened to):

On Jimmy Kimmel's show, I was very creepy with Ivanka Trump; got hauled off the stage by Kimmel and a security officer:

Oh, and according to news today, it looks like he won't be rotting away in prison (I didn't read the articles), but rather he's got an ankle bracelet tracker and will get to be a prisoner in his comfy nice house.[/I]

The house arrest is until sentencing.

The Star said:
Two days after his conviction, Bill Cosby has already started life as an inmate — though his surroundings are far nicer than they likely will be in a few months.

A judge says Cosby will be confined to the same suburban Philadelphia mansion where jurors concluded he drugged and molested a Temple University women’s basketball administrator, ordering him to be outfitted with a GPS ankle bracelet to monitor compliance. Until sentencing, Judge Steven O’Neill ruled Friday, the 80-year-old comedian may leave his house only to meet with his lawyers or go to the doctor, and he must get permission first.

I hope it brings some peace and comfort to his victims. I can’t imagine what they had to deal with knowing what he was capable of while promoting himself as and believed by anyone to be some symbol of wisdom and decency.

It’s a small portion of an even larger problem with society as a whole, but it’s a start and I hope there are more to come. Every predator needs to end up in prison.

Him and Rolf Harris.

It really hurts. So much part of my youth, and now, all tarnished.
Never had any affection for Cosby. I think his show was on over here for a while, but it wasn't a big deal - I've never seen it.

Rolf Harris is another thing altogether - my first record was one of his, given to me by my parents. I loved his 'Can you tell what it is yet ?' paintings and kids shows. I watched Animal Hospital and his anniversary show with my family. I took my son to meet him at a signing.

I really didn't want to believe it. It took a while to accept it and I feel as if a big part of my life has been sullied. I know something of what fans of Cosby are feeling.

I was disillusioned about Rolf Harris too, I remember him on Animal Hospital too and have rather stupidly felt that if someone cares about animals then they are capable of compassion in general.
