Discovery Nominated for Peabody Award

I think the MTV awards actually award stuff like best movie kiss and best kick-ass fight and stuff like that. I think you might be getting some of their awards mixed up.
No, actually you've maybe gotten the "MTV Awards" mixed up with the MTV Movie Awards, which doesn't give out awards to TV shows. Anyway, my point was that your "ranking" of the award shows in order of credibility made no sense since two of the shows you list aren't like the others on the list.
As for any hard sci-fi winning awards I am thinking not many if any. X-Files was pretty well honored back in it's day. Main actor of "Mr Robot" one a Golden Globes though I guess it's questionable if that counts as a sci-fi show. "The Leftovers" got some nod's from what I recall. Almost forgot but "Quantum Leap" also was pretty well honored. I wasn't around in the 60's but was "Twilight Zone" ever nominated for any Emmy's?
I don't think the X-Files, Mr. Robot, The Leftovers, Quantum Leap, or the Twilight Zone qualify as "hard sci-fi".

A new news article has been published at TrekToday:

Earlier this month, sixty Peabody Award nominees were announced and Star Trek: Discovery was one of sixteen nominees in the Entertainment category....

Repeat after me: It's an honor just to be nominated.

Just for the record, in Hollywood, nominations are used in production promos, and actor, director, and producer resumes, exactly the way wins are used.

^ Well I didn't say they were the same. But with respect to being a prestige magnet, being able to use "nominee" is almost synonymous with the word, "winner". Otherwise, you wouldn't see "nominee" displayed just as prominently in movie and TV ads.

Take for example the Best Actor category of the Oscars, the 5 nominees selected by the Academy are essentially considered to be 5 best performances of the year. The actor who wins is simply the best of the 5. All 5 are better than the non-nominees. All of the non-nominees are pretty much the same.

So, you can be sure that DSC will at some point promote "Magic" as "the Peabody nominated", unless of course, it wins. ;)

No way the Academy picks the best movies ever. When "Swish Army Man" didn't win best picture a few years ago I finally knew they were frauds.
