Babylon 5

I love the story of when she did that episode of DS9 (Destiny)...she had so much fun playing a Cardassian that she would walk around the studio grounds, in full alien makeup, and ham it up for the tour groups. Thus the security guards had to keep calling in and going "Could y'all keep your aliens contained over here?"
I never heard that story - that's great!

I think a significant problem with Thirdspace is that it apparently occurs during the series but is never referenced before or after, so you're left wondering how big a deal it really could have been. Not to mention the fact that you already know everyone's going to come through it basically unscathed.

I had the same problem with the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood film just recently. Midquels are tricky business. Rogue One got it right by focusing on characters where we really had no idea (though perhaps suspicions) as to how they'd turn out by the end of the film.

River of Souls, I think, mostly suffers because it doesn't focus on most of the characters we've especially come to care about. Unlike Call to Arms, it's not a set-up for something bigger (that we ever saw), and otherwise takes place after the main narrative that we've been exposed to, so we don't have a lot of reason to invest. Actually, in this case maybe they could have killed off a main character, but didn't so. For a second I imagined this taking place after Crusade and featuring Lochley's death.

Well, Wikipedia says the movie is "set during the second anime's storyline" and says nothing to indicate it's supposed to exist in its own continuity.

I haven't gotten to the special features for the film yet, but will in time.

Finished season three. Found the cliffhanger to be up there with "The Best of Both Worlds I". Very entertaining.

Deconstruction of Falling Stars was on tonight and I remembered how disappointed I was that nothing came of The Great Burn. That was a great concept for a loosely connected spinoff.

B5 had so much potential for related interconnected series.

Instead of going to New Earth (aka The Vorlon planet) should it have ended with them going beyond the rim to join the others?

I just found the first 11 issues of the Babylon 5 comic series on Ebay for $15 including shipping. They were going for between $5 and $9 an issue at my local comic book store.

Just finished season two, and the first episode of season three. Very much a soap opera, but a compelling one.

I just ordered season four from Amazon.
Do yourself a favor abd skip S5. JMS pretty much crammed what would have been S5 into the last half of S4 because he didn't think he'd actually get a S5 because PTEN was shutting down across the board - and TNT stepping in was very last minute after S4 had been mostly completed.

The S5 we got honestly sucked.

Disagree. While the first half of S5 may be somewhat dubious (though not entirely), the last half contains some of the best of the series, and frankly for me the entire thing is better than S1 overall.

I enjoyed Season 5 when I watched it a few years ago. It wasn't anywhere near as good as Seasons 3 and 4, but there was still a lot to like.

Yeah, if you give the slightest of craps about G'Kar and Londo (especially Londo), season 5 is essential.
