Who Would You Get a Crush On?

You know, for a guy who has such terrible game with the ladies, I never got why Geordi couldn't take a shot with Ensign Tyler. Sure she had a crush, & maybe she'd have to transfer departments if they were to go ahead, but really, what's the guy got to lose? Both Picard & Riker have both dated subordinates... Maybe even Data too

Anyway, I actually think I'd fall for somebody on the medical staff, like Dr. Selar, or maybe Nurse Ogawa. I always kind of liked her, but after she got some screen time in Lower Decks, it became pretty noticeable how really nice she was, way nicer than those others she was hanging around

Ensign Allenby. I mean it's hard to judge her personality from what we saw but I think she might be a fellow nerd. Also Jenna D'Sora. First she would make the first move and just kiss you which takes away all the fear of rejection and she is a slob so no pressure on boring chores. Are we using the definition that a crush is an infatuation with someone unattainable or inappropriate? Are we just going to be a junior officer on the Enterprise?

If so it would have to be Captain Picard. There would be no hope that anything could come from it, but damn he is sexy in pretty much every way. Who is more unattainable than the Captain?

If we're talking infatuations with non-senior crew where something could actually happen, the first thought that comes to my mind is Ben the waiter from "Lower Decks". I find his confidence very attractive, like how he has no fear of the senior officers. He is cocky but not arrogant and he seems like he would be friends with anyone and looks down upon no one. He seems very secure with his place and really enjoys life. I find that type of exuberance in a man to be a turn on and it is infectious. I remember when watching that episode I immediately was drawn to him; he was my favorite of that group and I really wish we could have seen more of him.

I do not blame Geordi as far as it goes with Ensign Tyler. When someone is that puppyish it can be difficult to return affection.

I don't see why we couldn't be talking about all of the above, even though some might obviously be more realistic than others. Picard is pretty unattainable. He's really only had maybe 2 or 3 love interests, that we know of, in the entire time he's been a captain, & they're all over the map in personality. There's just no knowing what moves that man to romance.

Ben seemed nice. Seemed a little light on ambition, just bumming around 10-F, waiting tables, & looking to get into poker games. He can't even really work that much, cuz I never even seen the guy before lol

I could actually go for Jenna too, but she'd have to be past that rebound funk. I don't even think she knew wth she was looking for, & it was a little uncomfortable for me, watching her trip around like a loose cannon of love. I mean you really gotta be off balance if you're barking up the least romantically inclined tree on the ship. I doubt I'd even need her to make the 1st move, with how hard she drops hints. I'm mildly autistic, & even I could see that ton of bricks.

I have to wonder what either of them were thinking. I blame Riker. When Data asked everyone's opinions, Geordi & Guinan chimed in with definitive maybes. Picard wouldn't go near it with a 10' pole, & Troi looked like she might smack Data in the face for even thinking it. It was only Riker that gave straight up approval... of course he would. Come to think of it, he never asked Bev, did he? I think he needed more female perspective on this

To me Barclay would be a good one to have a crush on. He is shy and with tons of imagination. Not really into guys but if I was he would be perfect. I could see a Troy and Abed type of friendship/ man crush with him. Also I think Guinan would be someone though I think that would turn into that thing where guys are sort of trying to date someone who is going to be kind of a mom to them. So that would start to feel weird.

I don't feel that Ben was light on ambition, I think we might be judging that by the standards of a 21st century hierarchical society. In the 24th century Federation, I do not feel that a waiter would be considered any less of a career than a Rear Admiral: everyone is doing what they find satisfaction in, and what would matter more is if you are following your passions and doing the best you can at whatever you are doing. Ben seems that he loves his vocation!

lol I actually like the civilian fashion that we see on The Next Generation.

Jean-luc has had at least a few romances: there was Vash, Kamala, Eline, Neela Darren, and Beverly Crusher (just off the top of my head). There were other love interests that went unrequited, basically just women with good taste and no chance. From his strongest romances, we can see that for serious relationships he likes a woman who is his intellectual and cultural equal. He seems attracted to someone who can hold her own in a deep discussion about their mutual interests and that he can share his passions with. For a casual fling he needs someone very strong and independent, also a bit non-conformist who will challenge him to break out of his stoicism.

She is clearly pleasing on the eyes but would you really want to be with a shrink who will be judging you on that level? Plus she I think is to Roddenberry perfect for me. Kind of a elitist. Plus she seems to be into alpha male types or even assholes like Devonna Rai so I am sure she wouldn't be into me.
