Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 3

Ava's origin was not quite what I expected. I'm definitely very curious to see what all lead to Rip recruiting her and then hiding origin.
I've very curious to see how they are going to end things with the Darhks, so far they've both gotten a few bonding moments with one or more of the Legends.
Kuasa's death was a big surprise.
The stuff with Zari and Mick was a lot of fun. I didn't realize Muslims were not allowed to eat pigs.

I have heard that. Also I think it's a Jewish thing as well. Granted I have also heard for many it's just some old thing they don't bother with.. Kind of like Christians not taking the Lords name in vein. I'm surprise you would have someone from a distopia even bother with that stuff. I think religion would be one of the first things to go once society falls apart.

The oppressive government in charge of that dystopia banned religion, so of course dissidents would embrace religion all the more strongly. There's nothing that makes people more determined to hold onto their heritage and identity than the attempt to prohibit it.

Besides, as Zari said, for her it's not so much about the religion itself as about holding onto her family traditions and memories, which are all she has left of them.

Just as Jewish dietary rules discuss "keeping kosher" by restricting certain foods (no shellfish, ,mixing dairy and meats/poultry, avoiding certain animals entirely like pigs) the Muslim dietary restrictions are called "halal" = lawful. They can eat shellfish (yea! Red Lobster "all you can eat shrimp dinner") but have to avoid pork, blood, carrion (think roadkill) among other things.

I did like Gary and Sara's different takes on the idea of multiple Ava clones.

Gary "Its paradise." :adore:

Sara "Its hell!" :brickwall:

At least both agreed their fantasies of multiple Avas included less clothing.

I wonder if "our" Ava was the first / prototype Ava.

Is this the first time an arrow verse show has visited Vancouver?

I like Darhk more in legends then I did in Arrow

One thing I liked about Continuum is that it was actually set in Vancouver as well as filmed there. Although it did require accepting the unlikely conceit that basically everything important that happened in the world for the next 65 years happened in Vancouver or was achieved by people who had lived there in the 2010s.

Normally, the advantage of setting the story in Vancouver would be that they don't need to hide its prominent landmarks, but they show its prominent landmarks all the time in the other shows anyway.

I really need to finish that show, I’ve yet to watch the final season.

This was a fun episode, but it raised all sorts of continuity questions. So Obama was president on Earth-1, but we know that President Cannon Fodder and VP Susan Brayden were in office in December 2016. I suppose it's still possible that Obama could've been a one-termer there. Anyway, the actor bore a pretty good resemblance and did a good job with the part. And I liked the "Run, Barry, run!" joke.

Also, I'm going to have to rewatch Vixen (luckily I still have the movie on my DVR), since I'm not sure how well this version aligned even before the timeline changes. Mari's mother never bonded with the totem? I don't remember that. And if the village has now been saved, doesn't that change Mari's whole life history and wipe all of Vixen and Mari's Arrow appearance from the timeline? Which is problematical, since Mari's episode was a key part of the Damien Darhk storyline, so the causality kind of loops back on itself.

I had a feeling that the guest appearance by John Noble as himself was going to involve him impersonating Mallus's voice because of the "uncanny vocal resemblance," but I couldn't figure out how. Now I know. (The other thought I had was that it would turn out that Mallus had been a hoax all along, and that the real bad guys had hired Noble to perform his lines.)

Pretty crazy that we have a show that gives us Barack Obama and Gorilla Grodd and that's just a small part of the episode. I liked having the multiple stories going on instead of the normal anomaly of the week type deal. I thought they had a nice mix of the serious and the goofy this week.

Wally needs to work on getting the drop on people. ;)

So Barry did run (and he won in 2008 and 2012). ;) Didn't Darhk imply last season that Trump was the POTUS when he said, "Say hi to Mel for me"? Unless, of course, that was a different timeline.

I got a kick out of John Noble's appearance as himself filming LotR in 1999. Denethor, Steward of Gondor! Who would've thought Noble sounded a lot like Mallus, and vice versa? :D

Why did Dahrk betray the team at the last minute? I thought the whole point of creating the temporal anomaly was to bring about Mallus and defeat him, and in the process liberate Nora from his influence. Instead, Dahrk would have history run its normal course in order to save Nora.

That was Thawne in the "Doomworld" timeline he created using the Spear of Destiny. The implication was that the worst possible reality was one where Trump was president.

But, man, Peter Jackson must've had a great cinematographer and makeup artist, since they made Noble look nearly 20 years younger! ;)

And it was lucky for the Legends that Warner Bros. owns the LOTR rights. Otherwise the plan would never have worked. ;)

Because the only way to bring Mallus forth was to kill Nora. There was no way to bring him out without sacrificing her. What puzzles me is why the Legends ever imagined he would go along with a plan that required the death of the very person he was trying to save.

Cos he's Damian Darkh and you don't trust him as far as you can throw the Waverider :)
