Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 3

He is and I knew he was coming but I was under the understanding that the Elongated Man would also be a regular.

I haven't heard anything of the sort, and I can't find any articles to that effect, at least not in the headlines. I don't know where you're getting that from.

Constantine is something I wasn't expecting to happen though I heard he might get a show on Netflix,

Maybe you're thinking of the animated series coming soon on CW Seed, The CW's streaming site (which also hosts reruns of the NBC Constantine series).

The show Heroes made the connection between freezing time (Hiro) and superspeed (Daphne) by making them able to interact when both of them activated their powers

Welp, the Elvis ep was okay, I suppose. I kept waiting for the Darkhs to show up, or indeed any villain to emerge, but in the end, none did. And the notion that without Elvis, rock music would never have hit it big is... absurd. Some good moments here and there, though.

As for the Death Totem ep... sexual assault of the week goes to Wally for entering Mick's room without permission and dressing him from his birthday suit for no urgent reason whatsoever. (Yeah, but Felicity's the Arrowverse bad guy for making Barry/Iris' ad hoc wedding a twofer.) Constantine is starting to feel a more natural fit with the team. However, I'm not sure I'm sold on Sara/Ava - Ava seems a bit too bland and businesslike, personality-wise, to really entrance someone who's been through as much wild stuff as Sara. (She's no Nyssa, that's for sure.)

Are there really only three more eps left to the season? It doesn't feel as though we're on the cusp of a big plot climax, despite this being the longest season to date. Maybe the remaining eps will build to one, because as fun as Damian is, he can't match the intensity of the Legion of Doom by himself, and this Mallus doesn't seem to have much flair, either...

I think it was more "without Memphis" -- that the abandonment of Memphis meant that the whole cultural movement that arose from there was short-circuited. Probably still a simplification, but not quite so much so. Also that the association of rock and roll with mass hysteria meant that it never gained mainstream acceptance.

Maybe that's the appeal. Sara's looking for stability, someone to ground her in the midst of her insane life.

I thought of that, but, if so, that seems a dull writing choice. I much prefer the upbeat, swashbuckling Sara who always relishes the prospect of the next adventure than the one who falls for someone who doesn't seem to much enjoy adventure at all.

I don't see the inconsistency. "Opposites attract" and all.

Since when do we need logic for two people to just work as a couple?
We're humans, not Vulcans. :p

Sara is struggling to retain her humanity in the face of Mallus, and her bright idea is to distance herself from her closest human relationship. Par for the course in a lot of dramas...but still...

Well they did go against the tropes with an honest and decidedly unmelodramatic conversation about Sara and Constantine, so I can forgive them for the classic "I'm dumping you to keep you safe"...

The show is absurd week in, week out. I long ago accepted that this show more than the others was the Three Company's entry in the CW-verse lineup of shows. It's a guilty pleasure that breaks a rule one week for 'x' reason and then 5 episodes later will state how breaking 'x' rule is something we just don't do.

With Constantine on board as a regular next season, once it's officially confirmed(which is all but certain), I do hope we have a new magical based foe. I'm very much over the Darkhs at this point.
I also would like a Swamp Thing episode, 2-parter if possible.

Some major and unexpected developments with the Jiwe clan this week. I'm getting tired of them needing to write around Mari McCabe; I'm starting to think they should just go ahead and recast her, like they have with her sister Kuasa (Anika Noni Rose in animation, Tracy Ifeachor here) and her adoptive father Chuck McCabe (Neil Flynn in animation, Eli Gabay here). Also, I wonder why she would've become a vigilante in the altered timeline, without the catalyst of the totem. Maybe she always had it in her, or maybe the timeline alteration is only partial.

Also some interesting developments with the Darhk family, and a fun bit of bonding between Damien and Nate. I'm starting to think Damien will join forces with the Legends against Mallus, like Kuasa did. Although after seeing what happened to her, he might not have the guts.

I like it that they found a nice, understated, fun way to address Zari's Muslim faith after barely touching on it up to now. Not just the avoidance of pork and the fasting during Ramadan, but the part about self-control and letting go of anger. It was nice to see that included.

It's too late now, but someone really should have invited Barry on the Waverider to do a guest lecture on why Flashpoint Vixenpoint is bad... ;)

Actually, Barry should have recorded some training videos on the subject of Flashpoint and make it mandatory viewing for all new Legends. I would love a scene where we see a new Legend sitting down and watching a training video where Barry pops up on the screen with the words "let me tell you about Flashpoint..." That would be a great scene and totally in line with the style of the show.

Can't remember if this was referenced in the cartoon, but is Mari out as a superhero or has this incident revealed her identity to the public?

Her identity has been secret, which is odd, since she doesn't wear a mask. The headline here said that she was identified as Mari McCabe as a result of her injury, so her identity wasn't known before. But that was an altered timeline due to the loss of her totem leaving her more vulnerable, so Amaya getting the totem back probably means the timeline will reset to normal, with no injury and no exposure.

They may actually have to dial it back a notch or have to rename the show "The Legends of Tomorrow Comedy Hour". If you aired this back-to-back with Arrow you might get a reaction like matter and anti-matter.

Ava's origin was not quite what I expected. I'm definitely very curious to see what all lead to Rip recruiting her and then hiding origin.
I've very curious to see how they are going to end things with the Darhks, so far they've both gotten a few bonding moments with one or more of the Legends.
Kuasa's death was a big surprise.
The stuff with Zari and Mick was a lot of fun. I didn't realize Muslims were not allowed to eat pigs.
