The X-Men Cinematic Universe (General Discussion)

Even it the Disney deal goes through it will take years before anything practical on the studio level comes out of it. For now Fox is just doing, well what movie studios do...

Knowing that they'll be out of a job sooner than later is driving some of the people there to show some balls for probably the first time.

DC just got him, and Bendis is now writing movies for Marvel. That's amusing.
Yeah, I was surprised when I saw that too. Could all of the negotiations and stuff have happened while he was still at Marvel?
It's the reverse with Marc Guggenheim, he works on DC's TV shows, and he writes Marvel comics.

Ellen Page says she would love to return as Kitty Pride.

I loved playing Kitty Pryde, and I think one of the things I always felt was I wish I could have done more. My experience in the films wasn't necessarily that extensive and she is such a great character. I don't know anything about the movie to be honest with you, but yeah, of course, that's something I'd love to do, but I don't know.

Please make this happen, Fox!

Which isn't saying much, unfortunately. She and Kelsey Grammer were the only good parts about The Last Stand (and Magneto's quip about tattoos).

The big line-up at the end was also good. Finally made the X-Men feel like a team.

So I guess now everyone is once again going to start freaking out and declaring the movie a disaster, and talking about how Fox has no confidence in it.

Nah. By adding a new character, it feels like there's more purpose to the reshoots rather than, say, firing the director halfway through filming and now the new director needs to reshoot most of the movie.

Still, it is a little weird to add a whole new character so late in the game. I'm not saying doom and gloom, just that it seems odd.

The movie was already a pile of crap. Now its just going to be a pile of crap, but with one extra character. Not a huge deal at this point.
