Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I mentioned the same thing to my wife as we were having dinner last night and she just gave me the "look". Y'know - the "Nu-Adama look", that I should just shut the fuck up right ricky-tick.
Where do you guys even get the balls to bring up such a thing?
"Oh yeah and BTW I met this 19 year old down town who invited me out for pizza lalalala".
Such chancers.

I’m in the uk and got my phase 2 Enterprise today. I got my magazine. My wife saw it and was like haven’t you already got that about 5 times- I tried to explain the subtle nuances between all the different uss enterpsises 1701. To which my wife marched across the room picked up my ss Yorktown and uss defiant (glow in the dark) and said “they’re all the f#*king same” she was laughing at the time (thankfully)

You need to explain to her the marketing value of "repaints" for companies - and the obsessiveness nature of rabid collectors, such as ourselves. "Look honey! This one has the Starfleet arrowhead facing in the opposite direction from what it's supposed to...it's an error paint job, which makes it SUPER VALUABLE!"

...as she gives them all to the dog for a chew toy...

:D

Anovos is making light-up versions of the USS Shenzhou and USS Discovery! You can see both models in the latest After Trek episode.
They’re built to order and available with a payment plan.

The USS Shenzhou sells for US$8,000 and the Discovery for $9,000.

I went to see what else they make Trek related.

They sell skants!

Half the uniform, twice the price. ;-)
($250.00)

One day when I'm rich, I'll have to get one to where to a Halloween party. Now, I don't own a pair of underwear, so.....

further modification to the shenzhou: replaced the white sensor dome with the yellowy, gold seen in the pilot. i also removed the yellow outlines of the sensor palettes at the front of the saucer and filled in the sculpted grooves with the same yellow. the yellow is probably not gonna be everybody's cup of tea, but the solid white felt unfinished. on the fence about weathering this one, the sculpt is so clean, i worry about muddying that up.

in other news...

somebody on the FB fan group has reported receiving email notification of discovery shipping in the US. sometimes i think those guys just troll each other, but it's possible...

Possible if they ordered from the web store and aren’t subscribers I would guess. I’ve had preorders ship several weeks before the “available by” date before. Almost always without a magazine which is mailed separately usually a month later. I’ll guess we’ll know soon if pics of Discovery start showing up in people’s hands.

so apparently it's a mistake? anyway, some people are getting theirs early.
Looks gorgeous! I'm glad they retained the gold/bronze coloring from the prototype we saw a couple of months ago.

looks a bit toned down from the prototype, which i thought was way too gold... or at least photographed way too gold.

now i'm going to be obsessively checking my email, bank account, and informed delivery app.

It says theyre made from thr original CG meshes, but they look a little SD to me? They're cute, they just don't look screen accurate.

Well they are toys - the Micromachines weren't especially accurate.

These Ship Danglers come with an Action Arm!
