Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Envious of those who already have the Shenzhou. It really does look like one of the nicest models this collection has seen. Does anyone know if it's only available via the web store or will it also be sold on newsstands etc.?

Got a shipment from Eaglemoss the other day: finally got the XL-NX-01 (very nice size and detailing, although more detail on the deflector would be welcome), the glowing Defiant (works beautifully for me) and the third Designing Starships book, which is also a very nice treat. I never got the Kelvinverse Enterprise, Klingon Bird-of-Prey and Jellyfish Ship, so it's nice to finally learn about the design thinking behind those. The chapter about the design of Yorktown Station is also very cool.

I think you need a few more posts before you can use images - it's to stop spam from bots etc.
Actually, with the current board software, this restriction doesn't exist anymore. I guess the images not showing up is more to do with them being hosted on Dropbox, which doesn't seem to allow hotlinking.

Hey guys, I'm seeking some information on this item I spotted on the Eaglemoss site:

This is advertised as a "Borg Cube Special Edition"
https://shop.eaglemoss.com/usa/star-trek-starships/borg-cube-special-edition

Is this part of the series where a small discount is offered to subscribers or is this the free gift given to subscribers upon your 18th shipment?

I think that’s the free gift for subscribers. Not worth $40 if it is though. I wouldn’t have paid anything for mine, easily one of the worst models they’ve made.

There is actually, right now, a Japanese DeAgostini Borg Cube available on eBay for $690. First time I've ever seen one in the wild outside of Memory Alpha. My auto-notification for that particular search lit up on my inbox yesterday and I almost dropped my iPad. I honestly didn't think it was real, and sure enough, there it was. Looks so much nicer and more accurate than that other one that ICW asked about, but about 1/3 smaller. Take a look, folks. I doubt we'll see another one for a good long time.

Looks nice. Not $690 nice, though.

replaced my shenzhou's pepto drive engines with proper impulse engines (printed on adhesive transparency paper and laid onto the original engines):

I'd love to see eaglemoss put a V'Ger starship out fromTMP DE. I'd shell out some serious coin for that.

Wow! That's a huge upgrade from the stock color. Might have to do that myself.

Firebrand and holoship arrived today. To be honest I was hoping it was the Shenzhou but hey ho. The firebrand is really nice a lot nicer and sturdier than I was expecting. Good detail too. The Hirogen holo ship is a bit blah for me- a lot of the the voyager ships are to be honest. In my pack I also got a note saying the Star Trek beyond Enterprise would arrive with next months sheduled package (Bozeman and Xhosa).

In other news, I have an inkling what the third ship in the oversized-DSC collection could be, after IKS Sarcophagus and ISS Charon...

I don’t think my wife or wallet are going to support me getting those.

I’d be so afraid of even touching a model that expensive.
I mentioned the same thing to my wife as we were having dinner last night and she just gave me the "look". Y'know - the "Nu-Adama look", that I should just shut the fuck up right ricky-tick. She tolerates my little Eaglemoss trinkets, and she was surprisingly impressed with the Shenzhou model that recently arrived. But those two monsters were beyond the pale!

I guess I'll just wait for the mass-market releases from Polar Lights and do them up myself. 'Course, they'll have to wait in in line behind the half-studio scale TOS BSG that I've not been working on for the past 5 years, the 1:350 Enterprise Refit, the 1:350 Space Battleship Yamato and the studio-scale Yeager and Centaur that I also have planned. I hope I can get them all done before my eyesight goes to complete shit.

.

Yes, I know the look. I received the same one & a rather emphatic reminder that there was an appointment coming up this Friday to meet with a company to design a custom display for my ships.
