Disappearing Crew Members

Back in episode three, Michael is sent to Engineering and while looking around, she (we) see two crew members walking and disappearing.

Has it ever been determined what was going on there?

HGN2001, I had the exact same response as you did when I saw that scene and didn't understand what had happened till I saw a discussion about it on this board. Maybe because of all the mysterious shipboard happenings, there were quite a few of us who were prepped to see disappearing people. I'd certainly seen fade-out scenes before but not presented in quite that way, and it went right over my head.

Yes, lots of people didn't understand the scene when they first saw it. Perhaps we can avoid being condescending about it?

That would have indeed been a decent thing to do. But I'm not that good of a person.

I will admit that I had a split second of confusion at that moment. All five people I've watched that scene with either were baffled for a few seconds or remained stumped until I explained. I'm not sure why it throws people, but it does.

Similar to the scene when the two stamets wake up that also confused a lot of people.

Both I think could have been edited better to make it less confusing for people
