But the Enterprise is the "largest, most complex spacecraft in the universe!"

That is non-canon. Nothing said the ship was the largest, it may have been starfleets heavy hitter. But it was 20+years old by TOS. I don't see it being the largest, heck in real life we have civilian cargo ships that dwarf warships.

This redesign?

Well, seeing as how the saucer, pylons, nacelles, secondary hull and dorsal have all completely changed shape, it could be any size it needs to be!

No, Whatever the connie now looks like as we know they have redesigned it.
It will probably have some similarities to the Defiant in that image since it came from the Prime Universe. Any differences in the Prime version we eventually see on screen we can chalk up to Terran modifications. (or a low quality schematic)

It does have the dual pronged deflector like every other starfleet ship we've seen so far.

how the saucer

Other then the cutouts and impulse deck, the saucer is pretty similar to the TOS Connie. I wouldn't call it a completely different shape. It's still round, and the edges are at an angle.

The secondary hull seems similar to the Refit.

I think the Connie we see will be a prime ship.

The Connie may not be the longest is length, but most powerful per unit mass? Design might be 20 years old by TOS, but it does not follow that there was a successor in use. I thought Excelsior class was going to be that.

Why is everyone so convinced a constitution is going to show up in Discovery?

They showed one in a very tactful way, possibly to avoid any controversy. The Defiant is now out of the picture. I predict we won't see any.
