STAR TREK DISCOVERY: 1x13 'What's Past Is Prologue' Trailer

Welcome home ?
Yes that jumped out at me straightaway. Why would Lorca say that to Burnham? Some possibilities:
  1. It is simply the old "editing trick" thing where audiences are led to expect something because the line has been taken out of context. It's something totally innocuous like Burnham having discovered her MU counterpart's quarters on the ISS Charon and Lorca finds her there.
  2. Lorca, for some reason, actually believes Burnham to be the MU Burnham. (She did mutiny, after all).
  3. The latest twist - Burnham has ALSO been the MU version all along (totally dumb IMO and doesn't even bear serious consideration - would kill the show stone dead)
Any other theories? To me it must be number 1.

All hail emperor Lorca!
He needs to capture Discovery, eat Saru (someone eat him for real this time) and only keep Burnham as his concubine.
Emperor Georgiu needs to somehow escape to Prime universe and join up with real Captain Killy (remember ISS Discovery is in Prime universe now) and go on while fun adventures in the PU.

Also since Stamets/Culber romance thing is over let’s get some Georgiu/Killy action going.

If the MU worked like in DS9, she absolutely would be.
We don't know much about Landry but the way the original behaved could imply she was with Lorca in the MU. They seem to have been lovers. It may have been her that Lorca said "I found a better one" at the end of this episode, and not Burnham. wild idea but there is the possibility that Prime Lorca is around, if that's the case could this be Prime Landry?
Be nice to see Sharma be a regular on the cast in season 2. They're going to need a new security chief.

IIRC Lorca is supposed to have been the only survivor of the Buran. So if he somehow swapped out Mirror Landry for Prime Landry, it would have to have been a separate thing from when he crossed over.

oh yeah. there went that idea.

I kind of like the idea that maybe Lorca crossed over with the ISS Buran, which sent the USS Buran into the MU. Then the ISS Buran got destroyed (either by accident or on purpose) in the Prime Universe, with only Lorca getting out. The USS Buran was also likely destroyed - but some of the crew might have been captured, or maybe the ship kept a very low profile and somehow survived this whole time.

But either way, since we know Lorca was the sole survivor of the Buran, neither version of Landry could have been on the Buran with him.

could just be he likes sounding sinister,

I think you may be over thinking it, it's Michael and he considers this their home.

I just don't see them airing the fan films for a general audience. We are primed to like them. I'm not sure other eyes would be as forgiving.

It would be like a serious publisher publishing Twilight fanfic. Oh, wait, bad example.
I would agree normally with fan films. (Out of shape amateur enthusiast actors struggling to fit into the jumpsuits, former has-beens and a-listers who just want more screen time, nonstop fan-knowledge stuff, etc) but the STC stories are really good. Stories are what its all about. Pilgrim of Eternity can win a non-Star Trek fan over.

Michael isn't light sensitive so the odds that she's from the MU are very low.

I'd like to think T'kuvma loses in every possible universe. In the Kelvinverse he turns into a crabby old Klingon living on the dole, trying to fix up his folks' sarcophagus ship, unable to secure a loan to get the special parts, certain that his destiny is tied to this stupid machine if he could just get it working..

Actually, I find the TKuvma's view of the federation right on point. This is a colonialist force who wants the universe to be ruled by human culture, to speak english and to endorse the federation point of view ruled by humans.

Moreover, they come in peace leaving dead bodies every time.

#TeamKlingons

Federation: Does not force worlds to join that don't want to.

Klingon: Conquers every world it can to forcibly absorb them into the Empire.

Now tell me, who's worse?
