That's what I said.
i missed a word in the reply. Agree with you.
it's like when Voq ate Phillipa, not cannibalism. Still gross, but serves a point in the story. The hatred for another species is real. Human beings have done similar vile things to each other in history when they see others as less than human.

I am almost starting to feel bad for the writers at this point, every single one of their plot twists has been predicted.

I have to say I have no inkling of how the season is going to go from here (other than they won't stay in the Mirror-verse) so the obvious twists have all twisted, more or less.

There is no good word for it in the English language however. Sophontophagia perhaps?

...which is why she's Specialist Burnham now, so...yes.

The real answer to this is that she's the writer's designated POV character. She has to be correct, eventually. The problem is, she's so terribly flawed that, even when she is correct, I have no desire to root for her. It comes across as arbitrary and undeserved, done simply through writer fiat.

Again, making her a mutineer was the worst possible narrative decision they've made thus far.

No worst than making Ensign Ro a court marshaled criminal when we first meet her or Riker a conspirator in an illegal plot to undermine a binding treaty or making Wesley complicit in the death of a fellow cadet.

The only difference is personally witness Burnham’s as falls from grace. We watch her crime firsthand. In any other Trek story we would have learned it all secondhand in flashback or via dramatic confession *after* we’d come to like the character. Here OTOH we walk with Michael step by step as she journeys down the long road to redemption.

. Burnham will have to decide if she kills the Eperor but will decide not to
. They will return to the PU
. Burnham and L'Rell will bond over Vash and end the war together
. The network will be destroyed just after their return to the PU
. Saru is Rhaegar Targaryan
. Tilly will die
. Lorca will die in two episodes

because to Burnham, Georgiou is Georgiou. She trusts her and has no reason to trust Lorca any longer, now that she knows that he used her

Lorca is a sexual predator who preyed on his adopted “daughter”. Betrayed PU Burnham and trapped her entire ship and crew in the MU to start with.

Why wouldn’t she side with the Emperor?

Good grief! Georgiou is the evil dictator of one of the most evil regimes in the world of Star Trek. She literally had Burnham pick out a Kelpian to be murdered and then served her to Burnham to eat for dinner!!

But hey, that Lorca, he lied to me. So much worse. /sarc

The following things will happen.

They will get back to main universe, Voq will escape, Burnham will against all logic be made the new captain of the Discovery.

Liked it. Wish it was longer.

1) How did MU Lorca get to the PU?
2) Where is PU Lorca?
3) Do we really think L'Rell did Voq in or is there more? She is from the House of Lies.
4) How did Culber get into the network?
5) Disappointed Culber really seems to be dead.
6) Disappointed Lorca appears to be only in for 1 season.
7) Glad we got more Michelle Yeoh.
8) Is it possible more Disco crew are also MU? Landry?
9) Are any MU folk redeemable?
10) Are any PU folk corruptable?

Burnham had to throw in with the Emperor. She was dead otherwise.

So this mirror universe has super star destroyers with dwarf star technology?
Yet in Mirror Mirror they have the same Connie with the same level of tech?
Pretty much puts any arguments over this being a form of reboot to bed

Aside from Green’s horribly wooden acting and the fact that they apparently went back in time to recruit B5’s original effects team to render the iss super star destroyer I loved the episode.

We all knew Lorca reveal was coming but I can’t but feel disappointed as he is such a wonderful character, interesting Captain and character. Looks like Issac’s time on the show is drawing to a close

To be fair, a good plot twist shouldn't always be bolt from the blue. That isn't necessarily good storytelling, either, to me. More often than not, looking back after a good reveal, you can see there were a few subtle things thrown in portending it if for the particularly observant. I think the problem here was the writers' twists were too obvious to not be predictable with a fair degree of probability. In fact, I'm not sure if they're really twists. The twists seem to be the "it's not really what they/us think it is" type, which is a trite storytelling device -- especially in science fiction.

He's a humanoid. If Kirk ate Sarek, would you still say that's not cannibalism?
technically no, but it will still be gross. Like humans eating a chimp or gorilla. the aliens in Trek all look too human in the first place. Hence I like the new Klingons, much more Alien. The reason Vulcans are only different in their ears and ugly haircut is because TOS had a tiny budget. We should not expect any intelligent extraterrestrials to look like humans in anyway.
