How scary can they be when everything looks like Christmas colors?

Please. For the love of all that's decent in this franchise...no.

Hopefully not. By going back to that particular well far too often, the Borg went from an original and scary enemy to overly familiar and played out.

I'm pretty confident we won't see them. There are new stories to tell, and the current producers don't seem to have the rather conservative need to revisit what worked in TNG, over and over. Something that seemed to afflict the creative staff of Voyager and Enterprise.

If we see them, hopefully they'll be as reimagined as the Klingons were, and their technological attacks be suitably updated as well.

I see the argument the Borg we ruined out of overexposure. While I suppose that's true to some degree, they were really neutered because they were fundamentally and conceptually altered from "I, Borg" on.

It's hard for me to put into words just how much I can't stand I, Borg. One of the most overrated, negatively-consequential episodes of the TNG era.

No. If the Borg were done properly, as they should be in Discovery, then the appearance of the Borg would be the final episode of Discovery. And the final episode of Star Trek.

    Forever.

This show has a good knack for a little bit of reinvention or alteration, just enough to make things cool. But I can't help be stuck on how many times prior trek jumped the shark on the borg. they aren't scary or dangerous anymore. They are a good example of how just writing your way out of anything and to hell with any established rules or boundaries can neuter a villain.

    So I'd rather them not.

Please, no Borg! PLEASE!!!! Star Trek has many species that are not the Borg, that have been introduced in the past 50+ years that could be good "bad guys" or if you don't want to use one of those, invent one.

I hope not however I am curious what this Trek show's depiction of the Borg would look like considering how awesome both the Tellarites and Andorians look.

My guess is they would go from the classic clunky, zombie-like automatons with various odd mechanical bits attached to very fast, very sleek looking cyborgs with armor. I'm thinking Robocop 1987 vs Robocop 2014.

I agree that the Andorians and Tellarites looked great.

Nope, I love ENT. But come on, they did what 24th century folks often failed at for the first decade or so after contract with the Borg, beat assimilation nanites. The Borg also did not act Borg, it could have been great. but was badly mishandled.
