About the Borg?

Are there any fics out there that focus on the Borg and or Borg drones—excluding Seven of Nine, Hugh (Three of Five), and Locutus/Picard?

I'm curious how other authors have interpreted the Borg as a character, and how they've handled Borg drone characters in their stores.

I don't think I've come across a lot of fan fics that focus heavily on individual Borg drones while still part of the Collective, and for good reason, I would think.

However if you are interested in post-Collective Borg characters I highly recommend Kes7's excellent Tesseract series which features Voyager's Icheb as a main protagonist, post-Voyager.

I have a Borg origin fanfiction, the challenge is turning it into an actual story. I did play around with the idea of a post-season 4 Voyager (with Seven of Nine) encountering a Borg ship from the Mirror Universe, and using that as a starting point, but I've never written fanfiction before.

Personally I have little interest in doing anything with the Borg, though if the day came where I did fancy using them as a foe then it would be as a cybernetic zombie horde, rather than focusing on an individual drone. Unfortunately though I don't see that happening, not after VOY pretty much declawed them.

How is that comming along?

(A) the transwarp conduit network early development is restricted to a shorter range which is apparent in networks close to unimatrix zero 0ne. I suggest seeding of the subspace fungi network with nanoprobes to create a regional sensor array triggers an antibody response which is assimilated creating borg nanoprobes.

(B) the fungi network is related to the realm of the faeries on earth accessed by a faerie ring (circle of fungi). The borg queen is queen of the faeries.

Unfortunately though I don't see that happening, not after VOY pretty much declawed them.

I strongly believe that the Borg were not declawed, yet they were proven to be indifferent to Voyager. Which means there was something to be gained by allowed one ship to continually take pot shots at the collective. Perhaps, we'll find out one day.

I can think of a few stories that have involved the Unimatrix Zero drones, but none where they were the main focus.

I actually had a somewhat badass idea for a fic a while back that I never got around to writing. It was going to involve Mezoti (the female "Borglett"), Riley's Cooperative from "Unity," and the Unimatrix Zero gang. Still pondering whether to go ahead and write it or not....

Still searching for fanfiction that uses the original concept of the Borg as technological scavengers, with no interest in assimilating lifeforms.
I'm amazed and disappointed that there's apparently no fanfiction that uses the Borg like they were in Q Who out there

Characterizing the Borg can be difficult.

I don't think my last category has garnered much/any interest, so it may be that we scrap it and someone else puts forward their topic (I'm sure you could create one that would fit your origin fic).

Okay, that sounds good. I'm quite looking forward to trying my hand at fanfic writing.
