Survivor Season 35

Ryan claimed that he followed Ben all day the last time. The problem was that Ben had already found the idol while everbody else was sleeping.

I think that Survivor "reunion" may have set a record for the least time talking to contestants.
Yeah, there sure wasn't much said. I notice that there wasn't the same fuss made over Chrissy's losing her job as there was over the lunch lady from the China season losing hers (probably because they found out she lied about it).

I don't doubt they planned that change from the beginning. If they were willing to cheat for a contestant, they would have done it for Ozzy about fifty times. Plus I think they're not allowed to change the plan based on desired result.

Although in Amazing Race they did invent the 'This leg is not over' thing because in that year coming in last made you lose all your money and they were in a country where begging was illegal.
As I said, they're not allowed to change the rules in mid-game (those are part of the regulations for all American game shows, due to the shenanigans during the 1950s, when some shows were rigged to favor certain contestants). However, I'm glad they dropped the requirement to beg for money, since that was so demeaning and undignified... and what would they have done if the team just wasn't getting anywhere?

What is Stacy's argument, that they directed the conservation to make people think about how strong a person was? They did really, really focus the conversation on that, and they passed a conkshell around which seemed like it might have been some kind of subliminal message to make people think about the Navy. But that would fall under the category of manipulating the contestants at tribal, not changing the rules.
She sued Mark Burnett (the producer), accusing him of orchestrating her ouster. They eventually settled out of court.

To be fair, Ben finding all those idols was nobody's fault but the other contestants. NONE of them looked for an idol or even watched him when he went out to look for those entire two eliminations. Remember Ben looked at the raft LAST, if any other person was looking for that idol they would have found it.
Some went looking for idols. Ryan did, although he found the advantage that he gave to Chrissy (because his tribe won the challenge and it was only usable during the first tribal council).

And I think you're being overly hard on Ben's game. Ben would not have been betrayed by Devon/Lauren/Ashley if they weren't afraid of his story. He had a damn good strategic game until the final seven. If he were not a Marine and a good guy it could have easily continued. He might not have won in the final three but would have had a much easier time getting there.
I give him credit for being persistent in his search for idols. I don't give him credit for his jerk behavior, which is a huge part of why the others wanted him out.

This makes me wonder how he could have found them. Do the producers provide a night light everywhere now? Did he tell a camera person to follow along and give him light?

I think he found that last idol just as the sun was beginning to rise, but it was hard to tell. Most of his searching was probably done as the sun was coming up and before the others woke up and/or began the day. He indicated that he was searching while others were watching the sunrise (or was it sunset?).

Of course, the moon could have been particularly bright those nights...Did he have a full moon and no clouds? And the camera lights are probably a good bet too. They needed to at least get film of him, so that's going to provide a bit of a light source as they're following him around.

His searching in the middle of the night could have been directly related to his PTSD. The nightmares can make it hard to sleep.

I don't remember Ben being too much of a jerk. Interesting how we watch the same things and see people totally differently.
