I wouldn't go that far. I'd apply that to TFA, but this one was streets ahead. It's a deeply, deeply flawed movie.
Oops, I guess I got my names mixed up, I meant Holdo, although now that I think about it an appearance from Hondo would have been awesome. I could easily see him playing Maz's role in the new movies."No my friend, Hondo is still very much alive! You write me off too soon, Ezra Bridger. Hahaha!"![]()

IMHO, obviously.

The cutesy humor was the only element of the movie I could have done with a little less of. For instance, I thought the "am I on hold" stuff was drawn out a little too long.
Kor
But here it's worse because it's completely out of place in this universe. i mean... why is he acting like he's on a telephone in the 21st century?!
It would certainly have worked better than that weird scene where Maz was fighting somewhere while giving Finn plot goals. Felt very odd.now that I think about it an appearance from Hondo would have been awesome. I could easily see him playing Maz's role in the new movies.
I'd argue that TLJ actually starts before the ending of TFA.This movie starts like what? a half hour after the last one?
It's certainly nice to have an Episode every 2 years instead of every 3.^The reference to the trilogy capper made me think that we've now had as many SW films in the space of just over 2 years as we had between 1977 and 1983 or between 1999 and 2005. When the Han movie comes out, we'll have as many as we had between 1977 and 1999*. I'm certainly not complaining though.
Oh my cock, I think you're right. Even more shocking, I never picked up on it until now.I believe this to be the first Star Wars movie where nobody had a bad feeling about anything.
Ah, I tried hard to like this movie. I literally set myself up to have no expectations before hand. I didn’t want to be let down.
Needless to say I didn’t enjoy this film. I had quite a few major quibbles and then some smaller ones that added up. I would post them all but it would be a real bandwidth buster.
That’s not to say there weren’t positives because even in my disappointment I liked quite a few things.
Part of my family enjoyed it and I’m glad they did. You can’t please everyone and I learned not to be harsh to others views as I was raked over the coals for liking the prequels quite often. So if you enjoyed this movie, good. It’s all a matter of perspective.
