From the thread title alone I thought this was going to be about the ol' “Spock's face in the title sequence” rumor.
OK, I'll be the one to ask: why would Spock go to DS9? The script is just a MacGuffin, and I'm sure that the details are largely irrelevant. I'm sure that there is some sort of "mission" that Spock is on that compels him to go there, some sort of peace talks or scientific discovery. I'm just wondering what there could be about Spock himself that would bring him to choose to go to DS9. What could he personally get from going there? What would motivate him to choose to go there? (Staring at the wormhole would be less than compelling).
"Spock goes to Deep Space Nine" sounds like a legit fan spec script to me. One that would quickly end up on the reject pile.
There have been less likely plot ideas that turned into good episodes. Besides, it sounds like the fan's script is a side issue and the fan's tribulations getting her script submitted are the main plot.
