Avengers Infinity War (and beyond) anticipation thread

A few other thoughts:

Looks like Banner's so-called permanent state as the Hulk isn't so permanent after all.

I love Mantis' little hand wave to Thor.

I wonder how and why Thor and Banner get separated so quickly. Might have something do with why Dr. Strange and Wong fought the Hulk?

I'm happy to see that Cap holds onto the beard for awhile and doesn't immediately shave it off to indicate "he's back on the team and the dark times are over." I really, really really, really hate that trope.

Thanos looks kind of goofy to me. Like some big dumb burly guy you expect to get in a bar fight with in a movie. A biker or a truck driver.
Might that be because he's not wearing his headgear? Even in the comics, I thought he looked goofy without it. Probably because we're so use to him wearing it.

He hasn’t gotten all his gems yet, so he’s still broke. He’ll pawn them off between Avengers 3 & 4 and dress snazzier in the next flick.

The original Infinity War had X-Men, FF and a lot of other non-Avenger characters? Too much for a movie, or are the others owned by another studio?

X-men and FF are owned by Fox.

I’m not familiar with the original story and don’t know who was in it but it certainly looks like pretty much every leading character from any MCU film (ie the ones made by Marvel studios) is in this one. Only the Netflix characters are missing.

Every main superhero character from all of the MCU films are going to be in it. No word on the Defenders or the SHIELD agents (Coulson, May, etc.), but as much as I and others would like them to appear even in a small capacity, the chances of them appearing seems unlikely.

In the original story, if I recall correctly, the only glaring omissions are the Fantastic Four (mostly Mr. Fantastic) and Wolverine. At least among the Earth-based heroes.

Of course, how much "screen" time any character had, I don't remember.

I meant as playing a role in the storyline beyond a glorified cameo.

You're probably right. I read the series when it came out, 25 years ago. The X-Men's involvement may have been limited to their own books for all I remember.

I still have my original copies in storage. I'll have to dig them out and give it another read. I think Professor X also had a significant role, too. Not that it matters as this trailer shows that it's already deviating heavily from that story (as do the gems' existence in the MCU).

I don't know Vision's powers and history in the comics beyond the surface level, but I didn't realize that was something he could do.

Well, if he can grow a cape out of nowhere and alter his density I don't see how changing his appearance is too out there.

Maybe he's learned to use the Mind Stone and is merely altering everyone's perception of him?

Another Marvel comedy, nothing but jokes and it was tough to take seriously.
When will Marvel learn to make movies that only I will like??

Totally kidding, loved every second of it! This one is not going to end well for the team(s), will it?

Yeah, altering perception makes the most sense, but fair point about creating a cape out of nothing.
I've seen a set pic with Clark Gregg next to Chris Hemsworth, supposedly from Avengers 3 or 4.
That's the first time I've heard of such a photo. Do you remember where you saw it?

It was a Facebook fanpage. I guess it may have been faked (it was short-haired Thor with Gregg in an suit and tie), but after the other recent leaked Avengers 4 pictures...
Which appears to involve time travel to events of The Avengers.
...I figured it was part of that.

Well... that doesn't look like a comedy. Worries put to rest (for now).

Awesome!!!! This looks like one of the most epic movies Marvel ever put together.

Wow, that was a great trailer. So many awesome moments.
Loved seeing Banner, Dr. Strange, Wong, and Tony together.
Human looking Vision was definitely intriguing.
Spidey Sense!
"Evacuate the city, engage our defenses, and get this man a shield."
The big battle at the end of the trailer looks insane.
