It's my first visit to this thread so as someone who spent most of his life being pretty ambivalent to cats, this is why I changed my mind a few years ago :

Her name is Chewie (formerly Chewy) - her mother was thrown out WHILE giving birth. Chewie was the runt and became stuck. In attempting to get her out her mother chewed on her left rear foot which went black and fell off.

Mrs Relayer and Jr. 'took' me to a Cats Protection open day where we met Chewie and were informed that she'd been in the local paper :

I realised I was sunk when she curled up on Mrs Relayer and went to sleep. She's a grown up lady cat now but lovely, and I adore her.

So, taken from another thread... We didn't get a George as Maddie needed emergency housing...

So, apparently the cat we are fostering as of tomorrow was rescued by the vet when they realised that the woman who brought her in was going to multiple vets to have elderly cats put to sleep.

Not that this lady was just scooping up elderly cats off the street and "putting them out of their misery", rather she was a registered fosterer for a local cat charity, who had made a point of saying she wanted to give a home to the very elderly animals for their last months/years so they could have a good end to their life. But instead of looking after them she was taking them off to different vets and simply asking them put down.

She was then telling the charity that the animals got sick at home and she had taken them to the vets where they had died.

I'm beyond words. Firstly that this person actually exists. Secondly that the charity hadn't noticed this before. Thirdly that vets were just doing it. And finally that the charity isn't seeking to have her prosecuted.

Just... wow.

So 19 year old Maddy will be joining the Rune clan tomorrow. And she will be getting a nice spacious room and plenty of treats so she can while away her final days with sleeps and strokes.

Maddie is with us now and needs some TLC and a good brush!

Given her 19 years it's very likely she won't be permanently rehomed so she'll be with us til her clock runs out.

So one of my cats loves the side of her chin being rubbed so much she will actually drool during it.

Sadly for her I'm working on the laptop and have no time for rubs.

She just got up, walked over to a box on the table and just started vigorously rubbing her face on its corner whilst looking at me.

Basically my cat is masturbating in front of me and giving an evil eye as she does it because I didn't want to help.
