Why should they inconvenience themselves, when they can inconvenience WB and have them spend their own coin to digitally remove Cavill's mustache from one of WB's presumed biggest films for this year?

The usual answer to that would be that since Paramount is in an inferior position in the industry right now it might need some similar favor from WB in the near future rather more than WB needed this favor right now.

It's unusual for the guy on the lower rung to reach up and kick the guy above him in the ass.

Justice League estimate adjusted to $94 million, which means a lower than expected Saturday. If we got a lower than expected Sunday, the actuals will go down further.

I passed on this film. I've had it up to 'here' with all these team up movies consisting of one girl and all dudes. I'm now dying a little bit on the inside after I heard that one rumor that WB thinks that Aquaman, NOT Wonder Woman, will save the franchise now.

This is just a bad, ugly looking and morally bankrupt universe that thinks it knows what it wants all while changing it's mind every single step of the way.

Apparently according to Twitter its the number 1 film in the US and made $50 million more on its opening weekend than Thor:Ragnarok did.

I've also been on Facebook & Twitter talking the film up.
Of course its the #1 movie... Nothing else came up last weekend. But Thor made ~$20 million more on its opening weekend. And its Thor. This is a movie with Batman and Superman in it.

Yup, a woman basically leading a team of super-men. How sexist. :-/

Have to admit- one of the biggest reasons I passed on this film is because of the recasting of Barry Allen. It feels like a slap in the face to loyal fans of the CW tv shows. I've never even heard of the guy they got for the movie. I can't see any good reason why Grant Gustin, and for that matter, Stephen Amell, aren't capable of playing their characters on the big screen. Maybe I'll catch JL on Netflix. Maybe.

Why would they play those characters when they aren't the same characters? Wb doesn't want to deal with consistency with the TV universe.

I am big fan of Grant and I used to feel that way when it was announced someone else was playing Barry in the movies. BUt no longer, it would have meant the show would have ended. it's takes too long to make a movie for him to do both. I liked Ezra Miller a lot. Being a completely different take on the character.

I wish though they were not copying his father framed for his mother's death though. That is only a recent addition to the comics. I wish they would not do Flashpoint as a movie either.

It's so fucking sad that the inferior film is more highly regarded and a bigger box office hit. Such is the ironies of life. Or the tastes of today's society. And the hell of it is that "Justice League" wasn't the best that the DCEU had to offer.

This is supposedly Junkie XL's unused Justice League theme:

Justice League is one of the more expensive films. It cost approximately $300 million to make, with advertising and marketing adding another $450 million, for a total of $750 million. Using a classic formula, the film needs double its cost to be successful. In this case, $1.4 billion.

Though the Marvel films have their faults, one of its achievements is creating a world where a diversity of colors can exist happily. Thor: Ragnarok is a bright film compared to Justice League.

Are we sure that's not actually supposed to be $450 million including advertising? 450mil just for advertising alone sounds batfleck insane, whereas a production budget/advert combo it sounds about right.

From the link I provided,

That’s because the production cost a reported $300 million (including getting Joss Whedon on board after Zack Snyder suffered a devastating personal incident), while prints and advertising costs reportedly amount to an additional $450 million.

I would like to know where that $300 million went. It did not go into the CGI, which was really bad.

Affleck's salary?

The films aren't in the same continuity as the CW shows. If you want to be more technical about it, they are definitely set in different parts of the DC Live Action Multiverse. Why would they have the same actors? The 60s Batman show doesn't have the same actor as the Batman Burton Movies. And the Adventures of Superman doesn't use the same actor as the Donner movies. And the 90s Flash shows has a different lead than the CW version. Perhaps someones should boycott the CW version?
