Allegedly. Reports are that Allison Mack was one of the highest ranking member of "sex cult" which was an offshoot of something called NXIVM which was known as a "self help" group. Can't speak for the veracity of the reports or credibility of the websites on which this is being reported. Allison may, or may not have been "brainwashed" into participating, but she is being investigated, along with the group and it's leader (some dude named Keith Raniere), for extortion. One report I read stated that Kristin Kreuk had also been involved but dropped out years ago. Allegedly.

I'm calling bullshit on this whole thing. I would hesitate to give credence to any article which originally appeared in The Sun.

I first heard about this years ago (blew my mind) long before The Sun reported on it. I'm not saying that makes it true, but it's not something The Sun just pulled out of their ass.

This and a lot of other recent revelations (I'm not naming them) have led me to believe in an old saying about events; trust but verify (or, if one prefers, this one from Deep Space Nine: "Hear all, trust nothing.")

Here's another one I just made up: 'People should be able to be judged innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, NOT guilty until proven innocent in the court of public opinion.'

  9. Unfortunately "fake-news" in this day and age with social media everywhere can rapidly tint the public opinion. You only need to tell a lie a few times from a handfull of created sources, and it become "facts".

Tell that to Harvey Weinstein, Brett Ratner, Charlie Sheen, etc...

Justice seems to move at the pace of the internet these days, in which case that Orville episode was on-point. Not that I think these guys are necessarily blameless, but the degree to which society metes out justice in the form of industry blackballing instantly short-circuits any sort of due-process.

You are innocent until proven guilty in court, but the public can and should judge you on your actions and words.

But in 2017 you can be a rapist and be president, be an anti-American pedophile and be elected Senator, because family values. So we the majority can still be against pedophiles and grabby pigs in other parts of life. And damn straight I can judge these assholes after they come out, comment and admit it.

  12. Absolutely, then its not a matter of "if" anymore.

Speaking of admissions, here is a clear admission of non consensual groping(which is sexual assault) in an interview.

When someone admits something, there is no presumption of innocense. And that was no set up or ambush. When someone asks you if you ever sexualy harrassed or assaulted someone, there is only ONE answer if you are innocent.

Were there this many "Innocent until proven guilty" posts in the other threads, or is it because Mack is a woman? Honest question.

The Sun "seeing a shocking email".....

Other than that it looks like me and everyone else are discussing sidetracks. I didnt even think of Mack-is-woman...

Kristin Kreuk and Allison Mack have been members of this "cult" for years according to news reports. It wouldn't surprise me.

I figured it would be just a matter of time before something like this happens. You discredit a movement by creating Fake News and making it seem like any sex accusation is just more Fake News. Which is why any political movement that relies to much on the internet is always going to have issues. You can't trust anything on the internet. Next prediction is that some of the richer people who are guility of sexual abuse will start paying woman or men to make sexual accusations towards them that are false and can be easily be proven to be wrong. That way the abuser can point to those false accusations as proof that it's all part of a conspiracy against them even the one's that really are true. Or is this to Fake Moon landing kind of crazy to think people will go that far? If Russia can takeover America through Facebook anything seems possible nowdays.

No, it doesn't make it seem like any sex cult / sex accusation is fake news. What makes everyone here thing it's fake news when it comes from the king of fake news The Sun.

Maybe right now but I suspect this is just the beginning. You keep doing it over and over and over enough and people will eventually believe it. I think that is how people began to fall for Trump's nonsense. You lie enough people will start to think it's the truth. Plus many might not know about the credibility of The Sun. I never heard of them until this. Well I might have heard of them but not enough to really form a opinion about them.

Well yeah, we see that in the USA. GOP and Trump say everything is fake and out to get them as they make up fake stories about Mrs Clinton running a sex slave thing from a pizza shop.

Liberal Hollywood starts to fall over all kinds of rape and sex abuse issues. GOP goes 'Told you those godless fags will burn in hell'. All the while ignoring that the judge from Alabama is a pedophile and soon to be Senator and Trump is a rapist (his first wife called him that) that we have on tape saying he wants to fuck his daughter and goes around grabbing women by the pussy. But the 13 women saying Trump abused them, all dirty liars!
