Is Discovery your new favorite Star Trek series?

Now that we are deep into the new Discovery series, while it is intriguing, has fantastic production values, beautiful ship design both interior and exterior, new engaging characters that we are starting to care about, goes where no Star Trek has gone before, and is a very welcome and long overdue Star Trek series "fix" I find that MY favorite series is still Next Gen. I'm curious about what you all think about YOUR favorite series in light of the new Discovery offering, and if you like Discovery best, why?

TOS and TNG are still my favorites. Discovery still has a very long way to go before I'd call myself a fan. I could quit watching today and not feel like I'm missing out.

I'm hooked on DISCOVERY and watch it religiously every Sunday, but eight episodes is way too soon to make any sweeping judgments or rankings. TOS is the show I grew up on, so it will probably always be my favorite.

I will say this: DISCO is already having a better first season than TNG did, and it's also kinda what I wanted ENTERPRISE to be.

Too soon to tell. At the very least, I want to see if Season 1 sticks the landing. I will say it is the show I look forward to most during the week.

Agreed. We are way to early in the shows run for me to say best ever. I differ in that TNG was the show I grew up on, but DS9 is my favorite because it broke the bland mold that TNG had fallen into.

Also agree. I still say TOS had the best first season but we'll see where DISCO ends up. It's going along great but Kirk and company just had so many great episodes that first year I don't see how it can be topped.

Discovery is nice eye candy but it doesn't feel like Trek at all. I hated it until I pretended I was watching an all new Sci-fi series that was nothing to do with Trek, then I was able to enjoy it.

Kinda hard to consider this "deep" into discovery, I mean 8 episodes into ds9, tng and voyager, I didn't have a great handle as to the feel of the show, Honestly for a trek show I'd need at least two seasons.

But I'm enjoying it more than ENT.

About the "too early" thing . . . I still think VOYAGER had the best pilot episode of any of the latter-day TREK shows (not counting DISCOVERY, which is basically third-generation Trek). Did VOY end up being my favorite Trek show? Nope.

We're not even midway through the first season of DISCOVERY yet . . ..
