Movies Seen in 2017

Movies i have watched recently in the past couple months was Logan (2017), Power Rangers (2017), Beauty & The Beast (2017), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, The Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Wonder Woman (2017).

Couple weeks ago, watched Jurassic Park (1993). I have yet to watch the other 3.

Last two films I've seen were Thor: Ragnarok and The Death of Stalin. Nothing much to say about Thor that millions of others haven't (short version; it's great) but I would really recommend The Death of Stalin.

Funny, horrifying, full of great performances and, most important of all, not the kind of run of the mill, cookie cutter film we so often get these days. It's written and directed by Armando Iannucci (The Thick of it, Veep) and is a satire set in the weeks after Stalin's death as the various members of the politburo vie for power.

It's laugh out loud funny but doesn't remotely shy away from the horrors of the Soviet Union at the time. Everyone's great in it but special mentions to Steve Buscemi who's wonderful playing Khrushchev and Jason Isaacs who's scene stealingly brilliant as Marshall Zhukov.

Very good film and I was especially surprised by Rupert Friend as Stalin's son (having only ever seen him in Homeland as a real po-faced character). His first encounter with Jason Isaac's Zhukov had me in stitches.
