Edit: Meanwhile we suffered through Valarian last night. What a shockingly dull and poor film.

Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol 2 - A-
Doctor Strange - B+

Benedict Cumberbatch is quickly becoming my favourite actor and headlines a great cast here in a movie that once again shows how bad the writing in Into Darkness was, wasting him as Khan.

I know this is a comic movie and the origin story, but Strange easily believes all of this spiritual stuff fairly quickly and they gloss over where this power comes from.

That being said, I'm still looking forward to sequels.
 
I forgot to mention that I have watched Doctor Strange (2016) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) a few weeks ago.
 
41. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou ★★★ 1/2

Definitely one of the more accessible Wes Anderson films. I really liked it and laughed out loud a lot.

Great visuals, but like so many disaster movies, there are plenty of people we are introduced to simply for the fact that we want them to survive or need to feel bad when they die. While it is sad that they perished in real life in the ways depicted, the audience has no connection with them when they are only given a handful of scenes or even just one, especially yelling with Mark Wahlberg from a crane platform, making it barely intelligible, in one case. Action movies are action movies, but you barely get the idea about anyone, even the main characters.

This was way better than I expected. Really enjoyed it. Go see it without watching the trailer or reading anything about it. SF/Horror comedy.
