USA distribution -CBS All Access discussion

I guess I should give the comedy series a shot.

It actually looks pretty funny from this trailer. The first trailer was not as good.

And since the first episode is released the same day as the 9th episode of Discovery, it doesn't hurt to check it out.

I've already cancelled it. Their service is shit. Quality is subpar and the other trek shows on CBSAA are even worse. I had a chance to watch the Netflix stream and that did it for me. As usual Netflix is beautiful 1080p with 5.1 sound and no buffering. This CBSAA app has been all over the place. That list posted above sealed it for me. With no new Trek stuff coming for months and their other programs seem to target an older crowd.

Maybe it will be better next year and I'll give it another go, or just wait for blu ray. While I like Disco it's not earth shattering good enough for me to put up with these annoyances.

If I could watch on Netflix I would.

Oddly enough Netflix refuses to install on my phone so I watch classic trek on Amazon, but the quality on the CBS app sucks.

I think that between Netflix and Amazon they have all the previous Trek shows right? Do you know if any have the remastered TNG?

Dunno, at home I prefer Netflix for tv shows, at work I use amazon on my phone but to be frank, I haven't dug in on TNG in a while and I don't know if it's remastered, I'd have to research to even know what was remastered and how to recognize it. But both have all of trek I think,

CBS All Access in Canada would still need to follow the CRTC's rules to have a certain % of Canadian made content on it AFAIK.

Edit:

Though I could be wrong, I don't think Netflix has to follow that rule?

CBSAA would be exempt.

OTT services such as Netflix fall under the CRTC’s new media exemption and are excluded from paying tax on revenue earned in Canada and from paying into a fund to support original Canadian content.

My thread was specifically NOT about US distribution, but was merged into a thread about it...

In the UK, you only get the remastered versions of TOS and TNG. The original versions aren't on Netflix.

I've got my personal count to four now:

Star Trek Discovery
After Trek
NFL Football (non regional stuff)
Twilight Zone
