We get a very nice look of Lorca's ready room map in the opening montage during Michael's log entry. I spotted Vulcan and Andoria.
The Alpha Quadrant/Beta Quadrant border is further right then the source material the map is from actually has it. Putting most of the Federations Core planets in the Alpha Quadrant, including the aforementioned Vulcan and Andoria.

I like the idea that some humans dress like they're from a 60s sci-fi show.
I know they wanted to end cute but I find it hard to believe Lorca would let Mudd walk. Didn't help that Mudd was too nasty to write off as a "scoundrel".
Star Trek Captains have an odd sense of justice. I've heard one gave a former dictator and attempted murderer an entire planet.
Lorca let Mudd walk right into the bonds of matrimony. We know what a shrew Harry turns Stella into.

True enough, but I'm just going off actions we've seen from the same character.
I thought it was a callback to I Mudd, where as "punishment" the Trek crew leave him in the tender loving care of an unknown number of robotic copies of his wife - a fate worse than death.
The problem is, this isn't the horribly sexist 1960s, and no matter how naggy a wife is, you can't claim it's a "fate worse than death" any longer.
I think the romance is further evidence that Tyler is either not what he seems or will not last to Season 2. You don't give the main character a romance this early on with another main character.

Stella was the best part of the episode after Stamets. Bascially, any character with a name beginning with "St" carried the episode.

Best episode yet. I think the baggage holding the series back for me is finally fading away. Great stuff. 
The Harry Mudd who probably murdered Leo Walsh and stole his identity because his own name was... well, you know? The Harry Mudd who was petty enough to sic a squadron of androids on the Enterprise to get payback for, essentially, saving his life and completing his business deal for him, and then meant to aid said androids' attempt to enslave the galaxy as long as he got the nicest cage? The Harry Mudd who... did whatever he did in that TAS episode? I haven't seen it, but it couldn't have been particularly nice.
Well, to be fair, the Stellas were built to Harry's specifications. It's possible that the real Stella will grow into a woman just like the robotic copies we met, but it seems just as likely she was hardly more disagreeable and controlling than we saw here, and Harry played up her worst attributes when making a copy to verbally abuse. He resented having to be with her at all, so his frank description of her to Norman and company certainly wouldn't be very flattering or, for that matter, accurate. And, of course, it'd be slanted to put Harry in the best possible light. "Stella! A shrewish wench who I was forced into bondage with when a conniving Starfleet captain— Captain, ha! Little more than an arrogant, swaggering pirate!— sold me to her father in exchange for a king's ransom to avoid his own debts! Oh, my dear Norman, you have no idea how lucky you are to only know this pale, synthetic imitation."
Wow. Qo'nos is labeled with the alternate names "Kronos" and "Kling." I don't think anyone's called it "Kling" since "Heart of Glory." But at least they put the proper spelling first. Looking at you, STID.I like maps

Yeah, since the straight line between Sol and the centre of the galactic core is supposed to define the Alpha-Beta border, that's in need of correction. Everything else, though...?
They are definitely sticking with Star Charts in other respects, though, and that raises a question: why did T'Kuvma pick Gamma Hydrae sector for his opening stand? It's on the other side of Romulan holdings from his own Empire. (Granted that Klingon houses' holdings may arc "over" or "under" Romulan space...)
