Should they have made movies about the DS9, Voyager or Enterprise Crews?

We have seen several movies about the TOS and TNG crew, so I have to ask, should they have made movies about the DS9, Voyager or Enterprise crews?

Voyager's story was over, it reached Earth and that was it. I would imagine that most of the crew would never want to serve on that ship ever again.

DS9, the leader was effectively dead and the crew broken up.

Enterprise did hold some potential for a movie, the crew was together and according the "Easter Egg" would serve together for a number of years. But it was never the most popular of Star Trek. Personally I would have gone to see a Enterprise adventure movie set during the Romulan Wars.

A ethical dilemma, moral questioning, and some pew-pew.

Yeah, Enterprise could work. Speaking as someone who didn't like Enterprise, I'd have loved to see a movie take on Rise of the Federation. Slightly different, with the movie focusing on the crew of the experimental NX01-refit.

DS9 felt like it had a perfect ending. Voyager's premise came to a conclusion.

It wasn't an artistic choice. It was a commercial one. For better or for worse, the later shows never caught on with the general public the way TOS and TNG did. And you don't make a major motion picture just for the hardcore fans.

Unless, okay, you're VERONICA MARS and that was basically crowd-funded. :)

I kinda had some high hopes for the veronica mars movie, silly me...

A Voyager movie would have been nice, just to get everyone debriefed and reintegrated into the Federation again. There are so many different directions the crew's lives could have taken, whether they stay with Starfleet, resign, or join Starfleet in the first place, or do something completely different.

And maybe we'd finally find out what happened to that damned Borg baby.

They kinda almost did. The original plan for a Nemesis follow-up was a "Justice League of Trek" (to quote Brent Spiner), using time travel to combine all the characters from all the shows (and beam Data off the Scimitar a moment before being killed), the crews would team up against a similar team of combined villains.

Creatively the 24th century was tapped out. It was time to roll things back to a period of "history" that hasn't been explored in such depth.

The DS9 crew had already directly broken up and it was pretty likely that the Voyager crew would too (and it would be very different without a clear story direction not being in the Delta Quadrant). Plus they had just done so much on television already and completed their stories that it would probably make more sense to try and have new characters and setting.

In which case it's a shame that they didn't use the idea in the conclusion of the Reeves-Stevens' novel Federation. That's long after the 24th century and if they want bizarre "Klingons" they can easily claim they genetically engineered themselves or evolved or something.
