(Lol,Jump the Tardishark. Wow. Can we use that...permanently?
Doubtful, given how well received ENT's Mirror universe episode was, despite the poor reception over all of the series. I mean, it is possible, of course, but it also offers some fun opportunities.I'm wondering when they do the Mirror Universe whether all the fans of Discovery will go sour on it and all the critics will .. see the light!
The letter DI wonder what the correlation is between DS9 and DSC fans?
I have a soft spot for Living Witness (Voyager) for those mirror universe like scenes. Bit of a chuckle. Janeway and the gloves, Tuvok with bigger ears, Seven back to full Borg. Good times. Discovery would be taking a risk so soon making a comical parody but you never know.Doubtful, given how well received ENT's Mirror universe episode was, despite the poor reception over all of the series. DSC might fail, but I don't think it will be there.

Me neither.I don't expect to like every episode. Or even every second of an episode.
I really enjoyed Living Witness as well. It was nice to twist the perspective like that. Deep Space Nine was willing to look more deeply into the ideas that made the Star Trek universe rather than take them at face value. Past Tense, for instance, tried to look at how human societies started to make the turn that led to the Earth culture in the 24th century. There were also at least three episodes that dealt with how economics worked without currency.
Which brings up an interesting point: WAS there a specific "jump the shark" moment in Voyager that spelled the beginning of the downward spiral? Certainly within Enterprise SPECIFICALLY the consensus seems to be the "space nazi aliens" cliffhanger at the end of Season 3.
Redemption, life during wartime, professionalism, and earning respect are things that have been present in the previous series, but which are being explored more fully in Discovery. Whether or not they are being explored well is certainly up for debate.TBH, I would HOPE that DSC would do that as well as DS9 did, but I don't see that happening yet. Hope springs eternal, though, as there are other similar elements around.
